Mie Hamada has really brought something out of Tomoki. He used to sulk through his programs even if the music was peppy and upbeat. You can see he likes this and I like how the pacing matches what the music is doing.

For some reason every memory I have of Tomoki is him wearing a tuxedo and skating to something Charlie Chaplin-esque. I don't know why nothing else has stuck with me but maybe I'll remember this Freebird program.

Yamamoto has qualities, like the looseness and unspectacular posture, and using a yell-y, overwrought cover of a song that is much better in the original, that I usually don't like, but for some reason, I really like him and his yell-y, overwrought cover of a song that is much better in the original.

So much of that program by Sanchez was terrific. He has a style, he's committed to it, and he's getting stronger in it.

You can always count on Cha for a great step sequence. I got chills. He always, always sells his programs no matter what is happening. And his carriage is one of a kind. When will he become consistent???

Edit. I need to see this program skated clean. Is there such a version online, please?

PCS is trash. Literally trash. He's 4th in it right now and should be about 20th. No exaggeration.

Shaidorov seems to be in a better mental shape than the first half of the season. Maybe he will peak on time for the Olympics!

Shaidorov's jumps looked tight again here. Better to go back to this program. His free skate has gotten trashed all year with PCS and he's sticking with it anyways.

His spins are meh, his steps aren't great, his skating skills are comparatively weak. He has more charisma than Jin, so I guess there's that.

He’s better than he’s been this season but sloppy at the end.

This is what I don't get. They aren't afraid to dump Shaidorov's PCS and rightfully so -- all in the high 7s and should be even lower but it's really something that they keep doing it as he's 2nd in the world.

So WHY can't they do that to Jin?

I think Shaidorov's fw has improved (at least in a way to make me think he actively works on it) in a way I fear Boyang's never has

What confidence and attack from Miura

This should easily be first. Miura is always all or nothing and there's not much in between. If he's 'all' in the Olympics, he's a definite medal contender.

I do really enjoy this program from Kao and he attacked it really well today
