Here (hopefully uninterrupted) for the 3rd day of SC. 12:30pm start time here in Halifax which is just great. Go to sleep in after a very late night with baseball and now I'm all set for an afternoon of skating. Life is good.

I'm always cold. I feel very cozy in it. It is sort of sedating a little. I wish it had matching weighted pants.

I really really respect Vlad's skating skills. They are a lot better than the mark ever suggests. Whole use of body and control over the edges. Spin positions brilliant. 4Lz was a beauty. A lot to like but still missing that perfect vehicle to show everything off as it should be.

Samoilov with the beauty huge opening 4L then pops the next jump. Ughhh. Such nice basics and movement. He’s refreshing to watch, a bit of an emo vibe.

there's a lot to like in Samoilov, and it doesn't really come together either. I was zoning out a bit at the end of the program.

Anyways, I'll probably snark my way through the entire day of questionable judging but the short program for the men has to be one of the best, if not the absolute best-skated segments from top to bottom maybe ever on a Grand Prix.

I like Samoilov, but he has a tendency to pop and the programs are usually pretty simple. I think he's capable of so much more .
