now this is what I expected from a '90s theme RD - a pastiche of sooooper 90s pop, and no connection to beats so strong that it takes effort to avoid. Maybe this will get better over the season if they give into the camp. And find the beat ferchrissakes.

Artem/Markelov: these two are far too white bread and mayonnaise for Destiny's Child. Her twizzles were way off. Skills are okay, but I hate these teams who never skate to the beat of the music.

I blame the 120bpm requirement. It's made every single team, even the ones we KNOW are usually quite speedy, look like they're skating through mud.

Oh by the way, on the tech panel as controller is Leanna Caron who used to be the President of Skate Canada during the disaster that was Covid, and people were pushing back about her doing little to nothing while she sat in Switzerland.

I know there's always some connection here or there to tech panelists, but being President of an organization is a bit of a conflict for me.

He might be. The ice dancers probably need peanut butter cups to get through these programs too.

Really loved the midline step sequence level 1.

This belongs in a different closed-off forum probably, but having talked with a few recently retired skaters about the decades dances after discussing on Youtube, they told me Weaver is very in favor of them and defends it to no end

She's in favour of getting rid of the outdated gender roles of ballroom, and she thinks this is the way, and I sympathise with the ideological principle, but this is not the way.

I think there's a good idea for N/M. Points for using the real version of real 90s programs, there's just too many of them. I kind of like the Night at the Roxbury vibe.

I don't mind the 70s vibe--as a Child of the 90s, I remember there was a DEFINITE love affair with 70s fashion in the 90s. I'm pretty sure I had Guess? bellbottoms that looked dreadful on me cause people who are 5'0 on a good day should NEVER wear bellbottoms.

I'm a little bit thrown by the idea of Steffan's shirt at a Nirvana concert. I'm kinda wondering what 90s y'all grew up in. The only way Steffan's shirt belongs at a Nirvana concert is if he got lost on the way to the Jimmy Buffett concert (who also had A Moment in the 90s--I know this because my bestie was a Parrot Head and we would ARGUE over what to play in the Discman jimmied into the cassette player in the car because I was most definitely NOT a Parrot Head).
