Gold on Gold: Lajoie & Lagha Cheer thread!

Someone on Golden Skate forum pointed that it could be an error on Skate Canada's website, the junior pair team Callahan/Furman who are entered for JGP Bangkok next week still aren't listed on the international assignments page (even though their coaching team on Instagram already wished them good luck today). Their names are still on ISU's entry list so hopefully it's really an error on Skate Canada's part 🙏

Skate Canada is so behind with info on their web pages, I wouldn't worry about it. As of a check yesterday, they still were not up to date with the interational medal counts.

Nice to have confirmation on which Bach pieces they’re using! Since people who've heard their edit said it was piano, and neither Toccata & Fugue nor Air on the G String were originally written for that instrument, I’m guessing they chose two of the famous piano transcriptions.

With regard to International Assignments, Skate Canada still has not update the webpage to show Pairs team Beau CALLAHAN / Vladimir FURMAN entered in JGP Bangkok, despite the fact the ISU Wedgie Data has them listed with a start time for the Pairs Short, which starts in 15 hours.

they haven't had a smooth off-season since 23-24 season 😔 hopefully it's not their health but program adjustments or something
I hope that’s the case, they’ve truly been so unlucky with injuries this past quad... wasn’t 23-24 off-season a struggle for them too? I remember something about Zach having a back and shoulder strain and thus not being able to train much at all before Nepela that season. I guess we will see with Budapest Trophy entries.

yes they couldn't do any kinds of lifts for 2 months during that time, and we know Marjo got another concussion last year 🥲, it's been 3 seasons straight for now but hopefully the rest of the season will go smoothly for them

Update from new Rob Brodie article, no injury!
Ice dancers Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha have withdrawn from Nepela Memorial, a Challenger Series event set for Sept. 25-27 in Bratislava, Slovakia. We’ve been told there is no injury involved. Instead, they’ll put all of their focus on Budapest Cup in early October, which will also serve as a warmup for their appearance at Skate Canada International

The previously announced Bach FD has been dropped in favor of their 2022-23 FD, it appears.
Wow, they're bringing back White Crow! I literally rewatched their 4CC outing of it a few weeks ago wondering how present-day Marjorie/Zach would skate it, so this feels weirdly serendipitous. I guess we will find out! Sad we won’t get to see the Bach FD, but since they scrapped it, I’m guessing the HPC feedback wasn’t what they’d hoped for.

now i understand why they withdrew from Nepela, will always be curious on how their interpretation of Bach would be though :'D

I will always be curious, that and also what their initial music choice was - the one they had to give up because of $$$. But I’m so excited to (hopefully) see White Crow at the Olympics! It’s my favorite FD of theirs, and I always felt like they had more to give with it, especially since they didn’t even get to go to Worlds that year. They've become much more refined in their movement quality since then and I think White Crow is a very good vehicle to show that off - very interested to see how the choreography will look on them now with the rule changes.

I am confused, are there copyright issues to Bach music?
What @ginsengtea wrote above. Also, they dropped their first music choice (which wasn't Bach - we still don't know what it was) because the rights were too expensive, and Bach was their second choice. Nothing has been said so far about the reasons why they discarded their Bach FD.

Wow I'm impressed at how insanely close they are together in that footwork sequence.
Unfortunately I think this concept and music choice is a big miss.
And with the hit on their FD music and having to do a hard pivot, I just don't think it is going to be good for them this season

I really like the RD! They are the only team I have seen who are keeping up to the music. Not that I know anything about soccer / football (like I care), but are there any iconic Italian soccer moves or incidents that they could incorporate, to both give the program personality and perspective, and to get the Olympic crowd a bit of excitement?

I am not sure where they are competing this year but they could have different soccer jerseys for each country they are competing in.
