It’s not the end of the summer yet. Black Swan could be a placeholder if clearance comes in the next week or two or already has, but a new program hasn’t been choreographed yet. If she did get new choreography, it’s a good Plan B to have a backup in case she isn’t comfortable enough with relatively late choreography, especially getting feedback on Plan B, not just feelz.

Not that I'm aware of. Music rights are intellectual property and each country has its own copyright laws which have nothing to do with economic tariffs.

There isn't an age requirement to compete in any domestic US comps - just that the competitor has passed the senior tests. I'm pretty sure that there's a reciprocal agreement between the USFS and Skate Canada that allows any skaters who have passed each other's senior/junior/novice tests to compete domestic events at those levels in either country.

Not directly related to the music but depending on the music skaters choose, the type of costumes designed can be affected by tariffs.

Quinn Startek should be in the Junior women scores I think now after the Quebec summer comp. She is a first year Junior from Hamilton who skates with Breken (same coaches), she is 12 or 13.

This post from the Ice Palace wouldn’t indicate it’s permanent. Probably she just spent a couple weeks out there I’m guessing?

I too would have hoped for a coaching change at some point over the last 5 years, but at this point it would be way too little too late given this is likely her last year. No one is a miracle worker in a couple of weeks or even months.

But is is interesting that she did go to Ravi even if it was just for a short amount of time. I would be really curious to know the catalyst behind that, because I think this is the first time she has been getting outside technical help. Of course there’s lots we don’t know I’m sure, but I don’t recall her ever posting about it before.

Does anyone remember how many years Maddie is into her degree program at McMaster University in Hamilton? I would assume if she's still in the middle of her degree, she wouldn't consider any permanent moves away from the GTA and even west-end GTA until she is done school. Being based in Oakville, training in Milton, and going to school in Hamilton make balancing school + training manageable and is likely the biggest driver of why she hasn't made a major permanent change.

Yes, she did say that. I was more talking about jumping help.

She definitely improved her spins and footwork after seeking additional help (getting almost all level 4s at worlds), but if we’re being honest her team should have sought outside help for that 2-3 years before they did. Her levels had been a problem for a long time.

But I guess good that they seem willing to get additional help now.

Curious as well if we ever see anything further about this 3A she was working on during SOI. The attempts I saw posted on Reddit back in April didn’t look rotated, but it also didn’t look like it wasn’t possible.

I do think the race for the lone Canadian women’s entry might be pretty competitive this year.

I think Minsol if she is going to be skating for Canada should get it and even Gabby could be considered after her skating this weekend.
