I like that podium. It's unusual to not be a square.
Listen, if ID were being judged fairly, both LajLag and CarPon would beat them next week and we wouldn't have to discuss them WDing from the GPF.Which is why they shouldn’t listen to your advice![]()
Fear*Fine with F/G wins in both events ,just wish they had a bit more "Oomph" in their program. It's Beyonce after all! Anyway. I love Lewis's skating and Gibson clearly is working very hard to catch up.
But then I really can't get into any of the top level team's programs this year.
The cartwheel was OK, but by seasick, I was thinking now we're getting too literal.Mark keeps complimenting the choreo assisted jumps (the cartwheels and seasick), and I just hate that part of the program, seems so beneath them.
Of course she doesn`t. She`s keeping them from beating themselves up because it`s not their season best, not better the C&B, being beaten by lower world finishers, etc. Someone says it-is-what-it is. That`s all.I don't think Carol needs to explain to G&P that they're not going to get the scores they want.
Whether the program is bad or not, a clean G/F deserve almost maximum GOE on every element and their skating skills simply are the best. C/P are not there. Not even close. So what exactly is unfair? Their program sucks? Last time I checked, collectively, the entire FSU fandom pretty much hates any pick 3 of the 4 programs of the top teams currently in the World.Listen, if ID were being judged fairly, both LajLag and CarPon would beat them next week and we wouldn't have to discuss them WDing from the GPF.
I know. I was just being snarky.Of course she doesn`t. She`s keeping them from beating themselves up because it`s not their season best, not better the C&B, being beaten by lower world finishers, etc. Someone says it-is-what-it is. That`s all.

So like every other ice dance protocol since the beginning of time?Ridiculous protocols: Gilles and Poirier with positive GOE (including +3) from several judges on that twizzle set where first he added an extra rotation and then he fell. Please explain why this isn't at least -3 if not lower? They probably should have been fifth in the free.
I think we have to wait till the end of the season to make that call. We've had a wacky, splatty GP series, but could still end up with a Chock/Bates, Gilles/Poirier, Guignard/Fabbri Worlds podium.Mark calling this the most unpredictable ice dance season ever with a question mark. Is there a more unpredictable season because this one is competing for number 1.

I'm pretty certain that any Ch element that gets ! can only be -1 max, on top of that. I can't be bothered to navigate the new ISU site but if it's still the case, another example of the system that should just MAX OUT at -1 and not give judges the option to score over that. I've been saying that shit for a decade or more now. I agree with you regarding G/F. They are sublime. And let's face it which ever program they do, they always get low balled.Whether the program is bad or not, a clean G/F deserve almost maximum GOE on every element and their skating skills simply are the best. True, in France something really felt off. We'll see how the program looks during the next outing.I would have said that last year, but G&F looked AWFUL in France. I thought Lopareva and Brissaud should've beaten them even without the fall. I'm not sure what's going on, but all of their elements seemed shaky and neither program showed off their basic skating. It wasn't just the program. Maybe it was just an off competition. I couldn't believe I was watching the same team.

If this is indeed the most up to date document, then what the hell? Someone sitting at home that never took an ice dance judging test knows the rules better than the judges? Who would've guessed. Off to text @thvu to confirm.Correct (although link is old, but still accurate in content in this context).
I have said this literally since before 2014 Olympics. If a skater falls twice and can only get X PCS, then why do they let the judges still input anything different? It's stupid. It's one extra line of code and a lot less complicated than some of the other rules.I don't understand why rules like this aren't programmed into the system. If an element can't get higher than X GOE then the computer shouldn't show higher than X.
If it receives the !, the GOE must be reduced by 2 grades. If this is indeed the most up to date document, then what the hell? Someone sitting at home that never took an ice dance judging test knows the rules better than the judges? Who would've guessed. Off to text @thvu to confirm.
And I thought I hardly drank.Did Mark just say that Deanna said that she has only 1 glass of wine a year??? ONE glass?? I can go through more than that just to get through 1 skating event (take your pick).
So this document replaces the other document, I guess? Thank you for finding it, I couldn't be bothered to click around to a bunch of broken links. Is there an updated GOE chart that also reflects this? I'm sure there isn't, it's the ISU.
It’s a separate communication that described the change. Finally found the updated document (unavailable on ISU’s own websiteSo this document replaces the other document, I guess? Thank you for your work! That's a massive change and honestly if it's getting a '!' then I don't see why it would start at a hypothetical +5 anyways. It’s a separate communication that described the change. Reduce by 2 grades and can’t be higher than +3.
