This is an interesting point. Skate Canada is getting sh!t right now for not being vocal earlier, but in reality, what were they going to do? As the standings were, they hadn't won a medal. They didn't have athletes with empty medal boxes. The USA was fighting to have the medals awarded. Canada wasn't going to get in on that. Sure, you can advocate for clean sport, but they were in an entirely different position than the American and Japanese federations.
But now that Canada IS involved, the gloves will come off and I love to see it.

This decision is ridiculous. Even my limited math skills know that 54<55. Letting Russia have any medal is ridiculous. They're always getting slapped on the wrist.
 
The simple solution as posted earlier, awards two sets of bronze medals period. Put to an end all these appeals. No one is interested any longer in how Grandpa's drugs got into KV. We are not interested. It is high time to end these Hunger Games and allow ROC to go play among themselves since they don't know how to play with others.

Umm, no. Russia should be disqualified. They were caught doping (again).
 
It's crazy that the ISU doesn't realize or care about the implications of this decision. They're opening the door for all kinds of shenanigans by signaling that cheating can be used to manipulate results.

I feel sorry for the U.S. and Japanese teams who can't fully celebrate their victories because of this nonsense.

Ask the team, USOPC. C'mon - is there any doubt they want a medal ceremony and they want to be together?

Didn't the head of the IOC promise the U.S. team he'd make sure they got their ceremony?

They need to have the medal ceremony for at least the Gold and Silver as quickly as possible (preferably Montreal worlds), they can hold back on awarding bronze saying "appeals are pending" if Canada does indeed decide to appeal. Fine if the Russian Fed is appealing the whole decision. Say we'll adjust the medals later, if needed (highly, highly unlikely, given their convoluted defense(s) so far).

These athletes have waited far too long. Not to be morbid or anything, but there could be grandparents who miss out on seeing their loved ones get their medals because they kick the bucket waiting for the damn ceremony.

I almost guarantee they won't do it at Montreal Worlds - not with Canada now likely appealing the result.

I agree no way should the US or Japan have to wait another year before they get their medals nor should they just have them mailed to them. Have the ceremony for them and let the appeals process figure out the rest. They can figure out how to award the Bronze medal later. If Canada gets the Bronze have a ceremony for them and if it's Russia Fedex those suckers.
