2022 U.S. Sectionals, Pairs & Ice Dance Finals - Nov 7-13 in Norwood MA, East Lansing MI, & San Francisco CA

Milly is such a lovely accomplished skater. Her WSS short program had much more choreography and was much more effective. I wish for her rotated jumps.

Eddie Shipstad coaching both Milly and Sonja. I took lessons from him at the University of Denver years ago. Nice guy but I wish his students were competing better here!

Man, it's going to be disappointing if Sonja Hilmer doesn't make it to Nationals. Ugh.
Well the good news for Sonja is that the Eastern girls performed very poorly today, so she might be in the hunt for one of the at large spots if she doesn’t qualify outright.
I knew Sectionals was going to be brutal with so few qualifying. It’s such a pressure cooker.

Rogers looked like he dropped his foot on the 2nd twizzle. That's the extent to which I can contribute about technique in dance, lol.

It also doesn't hurt that Pac Coasts is missing both Kate Wang and Alena Budko from their line up. A lot of really inconsistent women competing there this weekend.

Nobody wants to go to nationals….or more like they want it too bad and it’s messing with their heads. Alyssa skated so high in the knees and tight and Wren is breaking down all her speed and muscling her jumps.

Folkx are implying that Hilmer has a chance at an at large berth. She still has a shot.
No, the implication was that Sonja could make it today if the women in this last flight keep skating so poorly without taking into consideration just what sort of a lead Elsa had from the SP as a cushion for a bad FS.

Elsa Cheng keeping her head together. Clear winner. Needs work on posture, expression and spins. 120+!

Elsa and Alexa got the ticket….yaay!!! So happy for Alexa. Now show us those big jumps at Nationals since I’ll be there in person. Fingers crossed for Sonja to get the at large spot🤞
Too many train wrecks tonight.

Hoping I didn't pause too long on the Jr FD and can see all of the last two teams.

It says something about how far ahead of the rest of the field they are that Neset/Markelov can have a huge error in their FD and still remain in 1st overall.

I'm sorry, I've gotten lost among all the links. Can someone please point me to the junior dance scoreboard?

I jumped to the dance and rewound really quick to see N&M. Love them even with the error.

Trying to see as much as possible too before Peacock shuts it down…uggh! Would love to rewind and see all the others. Sometimes that works but not lately.

Mathew Sperry looks like an Ian Somerville in the making. Great posture, extension and skating skills at his level of development.
