FWIW, using SB scores (and CC score for Malinin), this is how the top 12 Worlds skaters rank-
Kagiyama, Zhou, Uno, Cha, Grassl, Vasiljevs
Morisi, Messing, Malinin, Rizzo, Aymoz, Sadovsky

I’d love to see Shoma win but I think it’ll be 1. Yuma 2. Shoma 3. Vincent.
However, I honestly could see Ilia getting a surprise medal or even a win if he skates like he did at the Nationals.

I would love to see Shoma finally win but I think Yuma is too strong, particularly in jumping strength, in comparision to Shoma. I think even had Nathan skated he would have put even more pressure on Nathan than he did at the Games. He just seems to be building in confidence and momentum at this stage of his career.

The 3rd medalist? Maybe Vincent.

How exciting that there will definitely be a new world champ since 4 brilliant skaters dominated the past 10 Worlds.

I love Yuma but am also rooting for Shoma to finally bring it home. I would also love to see Junhwan ride on his Olympic momentum to land on the podium in France. I don't think Korea has ever medalled at Worlds in the men's event. And how cool to have an Asian podium!

Shoma and Yuma for sure.

Would LOVE Vincent to be on it as well but I don’t see it happening at all.

Would be happy with Ilia or Cha who I think are somewhat likely.

Think Keegan, Morisi, Matteo and as much as I LOATHE to say it, Grassl, could be longshot spoilers in the event of some freak disaster at the top and clean skates from any of them.

But what will literally make me lose my $hit with JOY is AYMOZ pulling a rabbit out of a hat and winning a medal in front of a home crowd and having an epic meltdown in the KnC.

Japanese men's sweep!! Kagiyama for gold; Uno for silver; and Tomono for bronze!

Your thoughts...

It could easily happen actually.

Hasn't Zhou confirmed he is retiring? Would love to see him go out with a high, with a 2nd world medal, or even better a pretty big upset and a gold medal (not impossible, although Kagiyama atleast would probably have to make mistakes for that).

ICYMI earlier today, Kao Miura has been replaced by Kazuki TOMONO 268.99 (#14 on SB list), who is just ahead of Kvitelashvili’s 268.62 (#15 SB) - use “Other” to vote for Tomono in the poll. :)

I would love Aymoz on the podium. I would be crying.

I think Yuma, Shoma and Cha. Without Nathan, the US men don't have a definite medal contender and are likely to be all over the place.

Zhou is a medal contender in this field, but he is also very unpredictable. I think the US keeping 3 spots is mostly hinging on how well he performs. I expect young Ilia to perform well, even though a medal is quite unlikely, I expect a good performance and surprising (to some) good showing by him in his rookie worlds.

I think that Shoma's going to win this, though I'd really love for Vincent to have the competition of his life and win it as a bittersweet end to his season and to shut all the haterz up. My feeling is that Yuma is going to struggle with the pressure/expectation and under-perform, but I can't see him falling off the podium.

I can't see Ilia landing on the podium unless there's some really poor skating from not just the top three but several other guys. I do think he's going to finish higher than people expect. We'll see what happens. Only a week away!
