Yes, and I've seen them in a few different pieces of the Lululemon Olympics campaign, especially on social media. Piper and Paul are also part of the General Mills Olympics campaign, both in the Cheerios Cheer campaign along with being featured on front of the Lucky Charms cereal box.

The Italians looked pretty amazing to me…even if I think the theme and MJ music doesn’t suit Guinard’s style of skating. They were flying into the pattern dance.

G/P looked a bit tight to me.

Fairly certain I read in the rules a long time ago (probably 2018 Olympics) that if it's a tie in overall team points, it's based on the total segment scores of the two best disciplines since they have identical 3 & 7 points. Georgia has 156.97, and Canada has 153.78.

Ah . Thanks. I'm not sure if I love this rule. Something like Men's has such a higher ceiling than something like dance, so if a team is much better in Men's, that one event could completely skew things. Maybe it would make more sense to have it be the total score of all 4 events being the tie breaker?

I’m paraphrasing but:

She said Piper and Paul skated their RD the best they have all season.

She was and said that she felt it was the best they ever skated the RD. I can’t remember her comments on the scores either on G/P scores or the scores of the Italians

I didn't think she seemed too fussed either. It's pretty clear they lost levels.
Much like V&M in 2018, I think this gets the jitters out for G&P and they'll be able to fix the little mistakes they made for the individual event.

I was surprised they both received level 3 on the twizzles as they looked great to me and I thought positive things were said about them by the commentator. Any clue? Hopefully they can fix that. My non-expert eyes hate the NK twizzles and think he always reminds me of when my beater is loose and whipping around out of control.

I really like Piper’s dress, however I think the jumpsuit might have been the better option. Something about the combination of the skirt moving around, the jacket flapping a bit and her hair being down was creating a cluttered look for her. I’d either go back to the jumpsuit, or put her hair in a ponytail if they stick with the dress.

But beyond the costume aspect, they just looked a bit tight to me last night. Especially back to back with H/D, it looked weak unfortunately. And while everybody would have been better served with an audience, I really feel their SD is begging for an audience to come alive. Sad for all the athletes that they didn’t get that at the Olympics.

Hope for them that they can have two great skates in the individual, but I think they will be in a tough fight to even make the final flight for the free.

G/P's skating looked "small" compared to H/D. Edges did not look deep and I noticed her lack of extension. This is just on tv, it likely was even more noticeable in person. I think their marks suffered by skating right after H/D.

Their marks should suffer skating after teams who have power & better skating skills. Not just H&D, but the Italians as well.

Why? By all accounts here, it sounds like she handled the situation pretty well.

My first thought was that her new outfit seemed almost more like tween jazz competition or cheerleader or something. Maybe if it didn't have the hot pink bra top?

But the performance was lacking something. I also have wished all season that the music change came earlier so it was more 50/50 with the tempos.

They had really low levels last night, but got good GOE on their elements (nothing lower than a 3). But due to their levels they were 3 points lower than G/F on base value yesterday. And with the GOE tacked onto that, they could potentially score similar to what H/D had. They just need to make sure to work on those levels for the individual event.

She's, at best, "politicking" to suggest it's the best they've skated the RD all season. I don't think that's the case, unless they've really shit the bed on the RD all year.

Lane just isn't my bag. Luckily these Olympics it's an easy explanation as to why she's not with her team.

I'd be kind of upset if I were G/P because she's never with them at competitions, she's always commentating instead.
Their score here was relatively on par with what they've done this season:

• Autumn Classic: 83.35
• Skate Canada: 85.65 (and IIRC that score received a bit of side eye)
• GP France: 81.35

Seems like they've been having some level issues all year. Their midline sequence has not received higher than level 3 (Autumn Classic) and has received level 2 all other times. Their pattern step has not received higher than level 3s, and has twice received level 2 for Piper. Their Midnight blues is usually a level 3 (they got 4 at Skate Canada), and their twizzles are usually 3-4 with their lift a consistent 4.
I'm amazed though that they're still consistently getting level 2s on some elements at this point in the season, and haven't worked out how to improve it.

I think the Italians deserved to beat them. The Russians didn't.

I think the Americans, Italians, Piper and Paul deserved to be the top three. Even without the noticeable errors Nikita was a little muted/off through out the performance.

I think they can only bring one coach anyways. Maybe they prefer to have Juris so it works out.

I miss quirky, fun Piper and Paul. I love them to bits, but it seems like they decided they had to follow the norms of the field to get the placings they deserve - and now IMO their programs are just not as interesting. I mean, starting an Elton John program with "piano playing" hands is really lame and obvious. Their programs used to be much more creative than that.

I'll be as happy as anyone if they get an Olympic and/or World medal this year, but in all honesty I wish they would have won more with the kind of programs they used to do.

You are right @Sylvia - she made her first post on Instagram but her account had been active for a while and she had posted stories. Now she and Nik need their blue check mark! They are the only Canadian Olympians without one.

I agree 100%. They have become so boring. Lacking the same spirit. Can’t put my finger on it. There style this year is the same for past few years. The free dance is not a winner either. They had really interesting avant- guard music (forget the name) program a few years ago that was cool. Hitchcock was interesting too. To me this whole Olympic thing is a bit of a bust with no crowd etc
