I saw a small movie called Tigertail. Loved it! I wished Netflix supported this more, Zhi Ma should get a supporting actor nod.

I watched "The Professor and the Madman" and enjoyed it. Mel Gibson and Sean Penn are not my favorites but I liked them both in this and there was a strong supporting cast that included Natalie Dormer, Ioan Gruffudd, Jennifer Ehle, Stephen Dillane, Eddie Marsan, Steve Coogan and Laurence Fox. I enjoyed the historical photographs of the actual folks at the end of the film.

I wrote this in the movie thread but Promising Young Woman was amazing. It's not a perfect movie by any means and I had some issues with a few things, and I could tell it was a first-time director/writer, but the second half was incredible. It'll stay with me for a while. I can see Carey Mulligan winning an Oscar for it if the men of the Academy embrace this film. They may not given the subject matter.

Speaking of DC, has anyone watched the new Wonder Woman movie? The reviews have been mixed to say the least.

I googled 'best films of 2020' and one of titles that came up was 'Never, Rarely, Sometimes, Always'.

It's a simple story about two young women who travel by bus from rural Pennsylvania to NYC because one of the women wants an abortion. They have very little money, and as the procedure requires two days, have a spend an entire night wandering the streets of the city.

A very simple film, but a topic that isn't really dealt into much by Mainstream American movies/media (especially these days). Extremely well-acted, and touching in its own way.

Tenet starring John David Washington is now available on demand at normal prices. I highly recommend it! :cheer2:

Available on demand where?

I'm guessing we won't have access to it in Canada, at least for a while.

Speaking of John David Washington, Netflix dropped this trailer a few days ago of his new movie with recent Emmy winner, Zendaya:

Apparently, there's major Oscar buzz for Zendaya here. She wasn't eligible for any of the major critics awards there were announced in December and January since this movie is technically a 2021 release but this year's Oscars are allowing a grace period of early 2021 films to be eligible for this year's ceremony.

I recommend One Night in Miami. Wonderful movie. Obviously adapted from a play so it has some talkiness, but the performances are amazing. Leslie Odom Jr. as Sam Cooke was incredible.

New Disney moving coming:

I have to boast: they used my company's products to do it. :D [Not the actual animation but manage the project and keep track of all the assets, doing the storyboarding, etc.]

Mr. Mac and I watched Justice League this weekend. That is 10 hours of my life I'll never get back. Okay, it was only two hours long. It just felt like it would never end.

People do not watch a super-hero movie to watch self-absorbed characters moan about life when they are actually pretty privileged. That's what Woody Allen movies are for. ;)

I saw ‘Never rarely sometimes always’. Powerful film and powerful but subtle acting. Slow moving but never boring. Sidney Flanigan plays the title role of Autumn, a teenager who is pregnant. It is a raw and honest presentation of one girl’s life - rather 2 or 3 days in her life. I am surprised that it didn’t receive any nominations.
8 or 9 out of 10 In my book.

I haven't seen this yet but the director's earlier movie It Felt Like Love is powerful and very daring. Hard to watch at times but worth it.

It won a lot of critics awards but it seems it may be too “indie” for the mainstream awards.
