Will this competition go on? I read a national lockdown starting in Germany this week until Christmas...

Efimova/Blommaert are crossed off :(
they never made it onto the local list from LEV NRW ;)
Tina Helleken was on the NRW List but not on the DEU list.
Wonder if the local restrictions affect her ice time.

The second Advanced Novice Dance team from Chemnitz isn't entered and their Basic or Intermediate Novice teams haven't competed at all this season.

At least Berlin and Bavaria are able to send loads of Dance teams. Would be boring with only 3 in each category ;)

I would have loved the event to be open to non German skaters currently living and training in Germany. But I guess the days of Open German Championships are long gone :(

I thought 2011 singles results could not be 'topped' for a long time....

Men
1. P. Liebers
2. D. Wieczorek
3. C. Berneck
Ladies
1. S. Hecken
2. K. Häcker
3. C. Erdel

...but well. Thanks C19 :scream:

I am really curious what was the reason behind holding on to nationals in those times.
Contract with sportdeutschland.tv?

I see the point getting the athletes a chance to compete, but championships with such field and in these times?

Oh, nice intro/ad by sportdeuschland.tv

Next to the names you could see photos of the skaters, like in other wintersports, biathlon, ski alpin for example.

sportdeutschland.tv :respec::respec::respec:

A shame @alchemy void is not getting Kötting's posing here :p

Interview with Wolf/Liebers
  • it was fun
  • we are pleased, small mistakes though
  • he is angry with his 2nd set of twizzles
  • question after role modes: are M/D your role models? (as same music) Looking up to them, but Sinitsina/Katsalapov are their idols
  • 5yrs skating together
  • What happens in the last minutes before skate? Holding hands, getting in the mood, being there for each other.

Roscher/Schuster outfit.
@SmallFairy might be in heaven!

Shame about their skate.
Their overall skating seems a lot improved to me.
Nice speed, the new program works for them.
Shame about the axel, she landed it great in warm-up. No clue what happened in the throw, that looked nasty.

I kinda like the idea that Piontek is walking away with a medal at nationals here.
Not in competitive spirit, but he skates nationals since some years and always seems to have big fun doing what he loves, even when he is not anywhere close to international level.
@Hanna might be proud of me :p

Gurdzhi is on a different level in skills than the others.
Really nice speed and performance.
Typing this random steps splat :wall:

Lipnitskaya-axel-technique keeps me hopeless for a triple in any near future though. Not to speak of the ongoing lack of 3f or 3lz.

Still, tbh, I enjoy his skating more than Fentz' :shuffle:

Gurdzhi interview:
  • too happy about good performance until then, therefore random splat
  • goal: good performance tomorrow, good show
  • classic music: likes to skate to slow emotional music; not fond of happy/fast beats
  • how does motorbike fit in with FS: no hobby, just a way of fast transport to practice
  • goals for future: putting out harder elements, taking part at the big champs, eurors, worlds and above all olympics

M/D interview
  • only competitors, feelings about: we would have liked a fight against the others but we could motivate ourselves to skate better at each competition and enjoyed skating at least. It is somehow harder to skate alone, because you have to push yourself without adrenalin.
  • feeling without audience: it's hard for the skaters but it's more important for everyone to stay healthy and we are grateful getting an opportunity to skate, so it's fine like that (well said Dieck)
