He's hardly the first Russian to make the country switch - or at least attempt it - and not even the first for the German fed, so I fail to see what the issue is. He's not been able to compete internationally since he left Russia and he's been in Italy for at least a year now, partnered with a Chinese skater - that didn't work out, in part because the CFSA didn't request a release for him (see the Chinese news thread for the details).Hmmmm.... what to think about this? Don`t know their politics. Typical sneaky Russian away of working around the rules -
with German Fed in need of ice dancers? Sanctions like the one by the ISU are not directed solely at the Putin regime but the populace as well - creating as much pressure as possible.
I`ll let this go so German thread doesn`t get sidelined. He's hardly the first Russian to make the country switch - or at least attempt it - and not even the first for the German fed, so I fail to see what the issue is. It's not like Germany is full of talented ice dancers.Hmmmm.... what to think about this? Don`t know their politics. Typical sneaky Russian away of working around the rules -

I thought Savitskiy is Ukrainian, not Russian. It's not like Germany is full of talented ice dancers.
He's Russian, so what? So is Darya Grimm (ethnically, I guess), so is her former partner, so is Nikita Volodin.
What do you mean by "sneaky Russian way"? Do you think Rodin and Volodin are running around the German fed, spreading anti-Ukrainian propaganda?
Just be glad, Doucheland might have a new promising pair FFS.
According to Wikipedia his dad is from Belarus and his mom is Russian.I thought Savitskiy is Ukrainian, not Russian.

Anton Sikharudzhe officially stated yesterday that there won't be any releases until May 2026 (until they have worked out an effective system for transfer)Kristina Isaev has retired (I am too stupid to link from Instagram).
It is a lovely post saying she‘s moving on to coaching.
And that she had „no talent“ bit made the most of it.
And what the fed says:
Therebthey say she said it is due to health and financial reasons.
But that Rodin dude still made it, didn't he?Anton Sikharudzhe officially stated yesterday that there won't be any releases until May 2026 (until they have worked out an effective system for transfer)

Well, the Russian Fed only reviews & approves release requests at their December & May Exec Board meetings, so my interpretation of this is they are working through the logistics of creating an effective system for transfer and don't plan on approving any releases until next May, after they've worked out the details. Now, they may go ahead and issue a release for Rodin since he never represented Russia internationally and is now married to Dasha, but they may make the German fed wait until next spring. I'm not even sure they'd be able to compete in Golden Spin even if they got his release in December and that's the last chance to get the Euros CTES mins. I suppose, theoretically, they could compete at Bavarian Open and get the Jr Worlds CTES, which is about the only way they'd be able to get on the SB list to set themselves up for next season at all.But that Rodin dude still made it, didn't he?
Who did he have to agree to marry? There aren’t many single gals left in Dostatni’s camp.Perhaps they should ask for advice from Elena Dostatni. She's good at speeding things up for Russian male ice dancers. Apparently she has successfully get another Russian male ice dancer representing America and debuting in Lake Placid International today, Mark ZHELTYSHEV, who is still in Russia early this April skating in Krylova's group.
He's skating with Jane Calhoun (who used to skate with Danill Veselukhin),
Agreed.and she only turned 16 last month, so let us all hope and pray Dostatni isn't pulling her crap again.
