Wanted to add about Kai Jagoda: I was browsing through his instagram. He posted about an ankle or other foot injury and beimg on crutches on March 15. On Aufust 11 he posted: „good to be back on ice“ and „the time will come“.
Glad he`s back. He won nationals last year and I thought he should have gone to worlds. Looking forward to seeing him this year.

Grimm/Savitskiy have a new senior RD from Massimo Scali. I hope this bouncing back and forth between juniors and seniors isn't going to mess them up at all!

They talked about working on it in an interview with Ted Barton after they won Ankara. They weren’t sure how they were going to compete for the rest of the season/what their new coaching team had in mind for them.

I say why not come for JvrStef - see if they can challenge them for the Euros or Worlds spots this season - after all, JvRStef didn't even make the FD at Worlds last season, so there's no harm in sending a rising junior team instead to see if they can start building their senior resume.

I also think they should try for Euros and Worlds. The DEU takes also international results into account, next to German nationals. They update the ranking for each discipline on their homepage throughout the season. Once Grimm/Savitskiy have their first result from one of the Challengers, we will have our first indication if they have a chance against JvRStef.

Maybe. JvRStef's first Challenger is Denis Ten Mem - known for it's generous panels, lol.

Upthread I've posted a youtube interview with Grimm/Stav. They have Olys back in their mind. I think it's a good opportunity to go for World and Euro spot. Competition is good. I hope that JvR/S will fight back with good programs an clean skates. I like them a lot. I like both teams a lot

Sportschau has announced livestreams for GP in Grenboble: Pairs SP and FS
Great to see my money doing its work. Is Daniel Weiss commenting? If yes, then I am not watching.

FYI: Sportschau is part of the German official broadcasting channels which are funded by the stupid fee every German citizen has to pay them monthly.

Moment, sie übertragen nur den französischen GP und nur die Paarläufe? Ich verstehe, dass Deutschland nur im Paarlauf Medaillenchancen hat, aber warum nur Frankreich?
The french GP will be held in November in Angers. Sportschau is interested in Grenoble bc its the Final.

Nationals will be held 16 - 21 December 2024 in Oberstdorf: https://www.eislauf-union.de/de/events/deutsche-meisterschaften

Google translation:

126th German Figure Skating Championships
The German Skating Union (DEU) is organizing the upcoming German Figure Skating Championships in Oberstdorf. The 2025 German Championships are the last opportunity for Germany's best figure skaters to qualify for the 2025 European Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn (Estonia; January 27 to February 2, 2025). To mark the 100th anniversary of the EC Oberstdorf, the DEU German Championships will take place together with the national championships in curling (German Curling Association, DCV) and short track (German Speed Skating and Short Track Association, DESG) in the ice sports center.
Due to the anniversary of the EC Oberstdorf, the DEU is also holding the national championships for the junior, youth and junior age groups as well as the ISU categories in synchronized figure skating as part of the 2025 German Figure Skating Championships. The figure skaters' championship titles are awarded in the disciplines of singles, pairs, ice dancing and synchronized. In the first days of the DM from Monday (December 16th), the focus will be on the decisions in the youth and junior categories, followed by the juniors. The short programs of the master class are on the program on Friday (December 20th). The freestyle decisions of the master class will conclude the competitions on Saturday (December 21st) before the winners' show skating.

Link to ARD-podcast with Minerva Hase (30 min), and short summary

Pre-comp. interview with Hase
On FS this season (why it's working)
From the order of the elements, it is the second year that we skate it that way. Accordingly, it was faster in the season preparation to get the rhythms back in. This helped very well to find your way into the new program.
About the current FS
The program actually gets better every year. I think now we can show best what we can do and emphasize our strengths. We are pleased that you can see this directly in the points. We get direct feedback and see that the judges also take the step we took in the summer.
About being favorites this season. Has this new status changed anything?
The fact that last season ended and we were no longer called Underdog gave us a bit of time to adjust to it. In summer I worked through the old season together with a sports psychologist. We looked at how we can isolate ourselves a little from this favorite picture and not make ourselves so stressed. So far, this has worked quite well. With Nikita, too, I am much more involved in stress in our second season.
About Nikita's German language skills
He is busy learning German. Depending on how it works next to the competitions, he has lessons two to three times a week. There are also homework and textbooks, so he definitely has a good job. We try to reconcile this with the training as best as possible. He has already reached a very good level and would like to start preparing for the exam soon.

Obligatory, once-in-a-few-months interview with Nikita Volodin from the Russian press who wants him to pass his German exam as much as everyone else does
— Minerva so sweetly told us before your interview, “The interview is in Russian, I’m happy for him.” Could you explain why?
— She feels more, so, for example, she spoke at the press conference while my role was to support her. And, of course, it’s much easier for me to give interviews in Russian—I can express my thoughts more accurately. My English is basic, and I’d say my German is basic as well. I’ll soon move on to B1, then there’ll be the language test for citizenship. It’s not easy, but we’re managing everything so far. I spend about four hours a week working with tutors.
— The process of obtaining citizenship before the Games doesn’t make you nervous?
— Everything has been planned in advance. I’ve been studying German since May so that I can start taking the test next May. Everything related to getting the passport has been scheduled with plenty of time to spare. I have great tutors, I can see the results, feel the progress, and I’m confident that everything will work out—both on the ice and with citizenship. I’m doing everything I can to make it happen.
Also, about dealing with stress and expectations now:
— I have a good trait—I know how to disconnect from all of it. I don’t read the news, I don’t spend time on social media, and I try to focus on our work without looking at our competitors or anyone else. I know that we can skate well, perform elements at a high level, and with good quality. The goal is to prepare for the Olympics, and so far, everything is going according to plan.
— At the beginning of the season, was there a moment that was, let’s say, nerve-wracking? Maybe a competition that caused concern?
— There was such a moment. We decided to try a new style in our short program. Before that, we skated to lyrical pieces, which are easier in terms of breathing, and you just flow with the music. That style also suited my partner—she had always skated to that kind of music. After Art on Ice, where we performed a blues, our choreographer said that this style suits us very well.
We presented this concept during test skates. The feedback was that the idea was good, but we hadn’t yet managed to fully convey the depth of such a relationship on the ice. After that, the federation helped us: we found a dance coach who worked specifically on the short program with us for two months. By the first competition, we were much better prepared, and the judges noticed it right away. Now we continue working with this dance choreographer and spend five hours every Saturday on choreography—on the floor, on the ice, and even at the barre. It’s paying off, and we’re very happy with the results. But in Grenoble, about 40% of our free skate still didn’t come together as planned.
