Are you sure you asked for electronic delivery? I think it's only the e-tickets that have been released.

I was honestly 99% sure I did but looking on Evenko they have me down for Standard Mail for my All-Event and electronic delivery for the additional practice ticket I grabbed. To be fair I bought my All-Event when I was on vacation so I guess I could've ticked the wrong box. Ah well.

Was it just the all event tickets that went out today? I have a day ticket and didn’t get anything to my normal folder or spam.

Same here, zigzig. I bought day tix for Fri and Sat. I looked through my spam folder and there's nothing.

I've contacted Evenko and got the following response:

Does anyone have advice on SIM cards for my iPhone? I'm coming from the US and my carrier has no service in Canada. Any recommendations on which brand I should get and WHERE to get one? Are they at YUL? I'll be arriving on a Saturday night after 8pm which complicates things even more. I mainly need it for texting but being able to look up restaurants, etc. would be helpful. I'll be there for about 10 days. Thank you.

You can buy a prepaid SIM card from 7-11 - either online or in one of their stores. The SIM card is free if you buy $35 worth of credit.

The plan doesn't come with data, but once you have the credit on your account you can use $10 of the credit to get a small amount of data (100 MB). Your talk/text credit is actually good for a full year (or until you use it up), although the data is only for one month.

I'm not sure if this will actually end up being your best option, because I admittedly don't know much about cell phone plans - I'm cheap and hate talking on the phone, so I just use this for my regular phone plan.

I've seen Chatr at Pearson, and it looks like it's available at YUL as well https://www.admtl.com/en/shopping/services/Chatr

I know people who bought a one month plan (one time only). For $35 you get unlimited calls nationwide and 1 GB of data. Not a lot, but enough for a week. They have bigger plans if you're a heavy data user like me.

7-11 doesn’t have stores in Quebec so you would have to mail order it. Petro Canada (national gas stations) have a similar pay as you go plan. They don’t mail order SIM outside of Canada. There is a PetroCanada close to the airport but it is
seriously convoluted to get there I’m not even going to start to explain. FYI Both these companies are run by Zatar on Rogers network.

YUL Airport has several areas to purchase SIM and plans

Chatr is a Rogers reseller, Lucky Mobile is a Bell reseller, pick your poison.

Good to know. Thanks.

I’ve seen SIM cards for sale in Dollarama in Nova Scotia (we also don’t have 7-11).

Maybe it’s the same for Quebec.

I wrote to Montreal 2020 about the detailed schedule and they said it would be out early March. I would have thought that it would be available earlier...

I also asked about seating at practices. I know that all event tickets have an assigned seat but we usually go to Skate Canada competitions and we've always sat anywhere. The response I got was "Fan should sit in their assigned seats for practices due to the large number of tickets sold for this event". We'll see about that!!!

They are probably waiting until they know how many entries are in each event. Skaters have until 21 days before the event to earn world minimums so until that date, they don’t necessarily know how many warm-up groups, ice makes, etc there will be.

Thank you. I’ll cross post this in the other thread about what to bring along to the Bell Centre

Feb 24 is the deadline for entries, so crossing fingers that early March means no later than March 1.

I dare someone to try and make me sit in my assigned seat at practice lol.

I've actually been asked to move out of a seat at practices a couple of times over the years by the seat holder for whatever reason. I've always just picked up my stuff and moved as but I do think its kinda silly for the organizers to be telling people to sit in their assigned seats as that seems much more work.

Skate Canada used the "identified seat" system for Canadians this year, including the Novice and Junior events. In previous years it was just a ticket with no seat identified on it. Of course, there were not many people in the facility and it didn't seem to be a big deal.

As a matter of (Canadian) courtesy, if I should happen to be sitting in a seat that is not mine (at a practice or other event) and the person whose seat it was arrived, I would certainly move :)

If someone asks me to move, I'll do it but I certainly don't plan on going straight to my crappy row S seat as soon as I walk in!

2013 Worlds, which was also in Canada, was the only event I've been to where spectators were expected to sit in their assigned seats for practices. I was not surprised to read that it is expected for this event, as well. Being autograph seekers, my mom and I tried to sit closer to where the skaters exited the ice, but we were asked to move several times by people who wanted to sit in their assigned seats. We eventually gave up and moved to our ticketed location (same section, just several rows up). Not everyone has the same agenda at practices. Maybe you want autographs. Maybe you want a prime spot for taking photos. Or maybe you want to sit with your friends and discuss the action. We should be able to move about and sit where we want. IMO, it seems the organizers just want to fill up the seats.

good to know about the seats for practice.
For comps - when I get to my seat and someone is sitting there - I don't mind, I get it.
But sometimes they act so oblivious. They don't ask to see my ticket - they seem perplexed and really slow in moving and collecting their stuff. Also annoyed that I had the nerve to show up for my seat.
If I sat in a wrong seat, I would move quickly. I find it so odd.

I prefer to sit on the other side or different end from my seats to see different angles for practices. Too bad we cant do that.

I last went to Worlds in Boston. The ushers did not do much and my aisle had constant people coming and sitting on the stairs. Once one person did it, others showed up. And the ushers didnt control people coming to their seats during a skaters skate.

I just printed out my all event ticket and ticket holder. My all event ticket is only one page? So you bring the same sheet of paper to every event?

Yeah, I was wondering if I could laminate mine, or else its gonna be a shambles after a few days. Where are you sitting?
