I think we may have found the Papadakis/Cizeron version of the "Sekret Baby" conspiracy theory. The idea that Canada bought 3000 North Koreans fans to cheer for Virtue/Moir at the Olympics is just batshit crazy!

I'm torn . On the one hand this conspiracy is too OTT even for me. But OTOH, when remembering the theories, posts and overall behavior towards P&C that some of V&M's fans had last season after the GPF, I actually find it a bit cathartic .

Papadakis has a sad and striking face, with a rugged nose and a long, beautifully proportioned body incapable of anything hurried or out of touch with her partner or the music. This writer was a regular attendee at City Ballet over a couple of decades, and this dance interlude felt as moving and memorable as any Balanchine-produced moments seen in that long, sweet time.

sports journalists who cares Virtue and Moir already did that style with there Superior Mahler, there was nothing new in their Moonlight Sonata in fact it should have been retired after Gordeeva and Grinkov skated in Lilehammer, they were also way overscored in the SD that SD didn't deserve anything more than 77points.

I'm not going to attempt to speak for the crazy troll, but... nice try. Those things don't even register as a blip on my radar (because, I mean, neither of them mattered in the end, right?) every time I re-watch and hear "...and are currently in first place" after VM's Olympic FD.

To get back on topic (although the crazies who are putting forth conspiracy theories about VM and SC paying off fans at the Olympics deserve for the thread to get OT), I am looking forward to seeing P/C's Rachael Yamagata FD.

Nope! Yet another fallacy. What mattered was that you were obviously trying to irk people with nonsense as usual, and I was calling you out for it. It absolutely would not have mattered to me in the long run if VM had been, say, FOURTH in PCS, as long as the outcome was still the same. You can choose to believe otherwise to make yourself feel better (or continue to believe it all would have been different if not for a costume malfunction, or other people can choose to believe in ludicrous conspiracy theories, etc.), but seriously, why would I care about the details of the various segments and tiny differences in subjective scoring when my team won in the end? I may have disagreed on principle, but overall the thing that mattered to me was who won. Guess what? They did.

Alainefr06 needs to get a grip (and I pray that the reason he has insider access to P/C has nothing to do with actually managing their career), but the malicious behavior continues even now so who can blame you.

BTW my reference to the Team Trainwreck was a just sarcastic joke about some of the newer posters turning this thread into a dumpster fire. I didn't intend or believe that anyone would bring this nonsense into that thread, but they had a laugh over there at our expense so good for them.

If Alain saw a large North Korean contingent at the FD (whether it was 3000 or not) or has had a number of eye witness reports that it was the case (and Greengan has supported that it was the case across multiple events that there was a significant North Korean delegation) why is that not a repeatable fact when discussing the audience reception at the game. North Korea is very weird and is known for marshalling its people to take part in propaganda exercises.

A theory I would add as to why they might have turned up to cheer V/M's freedance but not P/Cs might be that there was the costume malfunction the previous day: if it was a planned propaganda showing, the exposed nipple the previous day might have been enough for any organised enthusiasm for it to have been nixed.

Also, the North Korean contingent people are talking about were those Handmaid-like women who had to uniformly cheer and dress up. There certainly were NOT 3,000 of them during the figure skating events. BBC reported that North Korea sent 230 to cheer for their "handful of athletes". Not nearly close to that at all. There wasn't anything like that during the FDs nor during V/M's skate where they uniformly cheered for V/M as far as I remember.

And besides, what motive would North Korea have to only cheer for V/M? Seriously? There's no conspiracy. The crowd just highly enjoyed V/M's skate and knew who they were beforehand because they were the biggest names in ice dance going into the Olympics.

Mady & Zach were coached by Spilband & Pasquale until 2014/15. They moved to Gadbois afterwards.

Igor was never involved in coaching them. PAsquale and Igor SHOULD have teamed up sooner but they didn’t.

Just because you want to believe nobody would cheer for V/M in that manner and they would not have received the highest ovations from a crowd unless there was a huge conspiracy for them and against P/C doesn't make it true.

Oh for feck sake, for obvious reasons I couldn't wait for P/C to have their first official competition but now I just want them to skate so badly in order for all these nonsense talks in this thread to just stop. Then, maybe, we can finally obsess about what we are all supposed to obsess about here: Gaby and Guillaume' greatness and hopefully how we were all freaking out for nothing over the FD because as Tanith said, they could skate to whale sounds for all she cares, they are that transcendant.
