Now you sound like if you forgot what it feels to be young. Until certain age most women prefers looks over comfort and practicality..
Not if one's role models of beauty were and ARE these... And in my case "i never grew up".... :D

Evgeniya’s mother, Zhanna Devyatova, is an executive at a Russian anime studio (similar to PIXAR) which produces popular children’s education cartoon TV series called “FIKSIKI” (ФИКСИКИ). Recently they produced a segment with Figure Skating subject with a message about not being jealous and not to sabotage others’ success.

Here is the video. No translation is required really, but just in case: little gadget-kids love sports. One time they decide to have a figure skating challenge, each claiming he/she is better, and Real Boy (human) makes a skating rink for them by freezing water in a frying pan. Boy-gadget tries first but the Girl-gadget skates much better. Human-boy and Gadget-boy try to sabotage her… etc.

The dogs adorable but you should never buy someone else’s kid a pet or anyone a pet without permission

2 weeks ago at a formal reception for Olympians, Medvedeva told Putin that she, on behalf of her skating team wants him (administration) to build 2 more rinks for Sambo-70 to help the creative expansion of the sport of figure skating.
https://rsport.ria.ru/figure_skating/20180301/1133457945.html

Several sports news outlets are now posting that few days ago Moscow City Administration and President’s office approved construction of a new ice skating centre for Sambo-70, with 2 ice surfaces (per Evgeniya’s official request to Putin).

И хочу рассказать вам новость. Руководством страны и города принято решение о строительстве нового катка.

There is something to be said about star power. In every picture Medvedeva is front and center...
 interesting that asked that. after the Europeans a person on another chat-site asked why did Zagitova let Kostner and Medvedeva go ahead of her during the winners' circle after the Medal Ceremony. The only explanation is, Zagitova was raised properly and understands the existing concept of "Seniority". Both, Med and Caro, are (per Zagitova herself) are her role-models, they are more accomplished and older than she is, and it is only proper to let them ahead. It does not detract from her winning Gold medal.

Pretty much the same at the Russian events. Zagitova has Gold, it's hers and so are the higher payments from the IOC and Russian Feds. But Medvedeva is older and more accomplished (at present), and Alina respects that.

Evgenia Medvedeva and Ekaterina Bobrova were on the popular talk-show, Evening Urgent, few days ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZULrfVJCbP0

I saw that! Poor Med, with her evening dress, is wearing her old flat slippers which she wears at home and after practice (seen on some fun videos). Her leg must hurt, because otherwise she wears high hills to public events.

Another "fun subject" (since there is no translation for this video): The song that made Evgeniya produce a urine sample.

Bob/Med is telling about a funny incident after the FS at the last Europeans. Medvedeva was pulled in for a drug test. She had no fluids in her body, and could not "produce" for several hours, with 4 people standing over her. The rink was already closed, it was dark, and she did not know what to do. So in panic she telephoned Bobrova, asking what to do. Bobrova was sitting in a restaurant in the middle of down-town Moscow, celebrating with bunch of other skaters. But she dropped the party, jumped in a taxi, came to the rink, to help Evgeniya with body-functions. Bobrova used her own method - she watches youtube videos with pop-songs that have to do with "water dripping" like songs about "rain" or "tears".... Few songs did not work... :D. So tried a funny one, from an old Russian comedy movie "Ivan Ivanovich changes career"... and it worked.... :D So this what made Evgeniya "go" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tDZl_wj8Fo (the tears are dripping from Marucya's face when she waves farewell to her soldier husband).

of course it is a personal choice.... but long hair for an athlete, or honestly for anyone today, is beyond me... if not in a bun or a pony-tail: it hooks on other items, wind can blow it over your eyes, you have to think about it all the time, it needs care, it gets wet and heavy, it takes up time, if in a fight or a struggle one can pull you down, it restricts your movement, and worst yet, it is one more item on your body that extends and restricts you (not as much as a big bust, but bad enough).

All right, I'm going to speak from experience here. As a kid, I had long, straight, thick Asian hair down to my waist. When I was 13, it was ridiculously heavy and a pain in the butt to wash, so I went for a Wenjing Sui bob. I haven't grown it out since. I loved my long hair, but it was just not worth the hassle for me.

Short hair/long hair, it's all beautiful. There are styles in all lengths that seriously look awesome.

Yes! I can't help thinking of all the awesome short styles in pairs: Wenjing Sui's (past and present), Ksenia Stolbova's, Meagan Duhamel's, Lubov Ilyushechkina's, Vanessa James's. Then all the long styles: think Elena Radionova, Madison Chock, Gabby Daleman, Kaitlyn Weaver...I'm missing some, I'm sure! And so many in between!
I think it's a silly notion that all glamorous, beautiful women have long luxurious hair. I remember when I first wanted to cut my hair, my mom said "Oh no! You'll look like a boy!" (She had to scale me back from the initial super short pixie idea lol). Every woman has her own perfect style, whether it's long, short, or in between.

As for Trusova, I think she'd look great with a crown of braids. But if she wants super super long hair, it's none of our business and I frankly don't have a problem with it. There's gotta be a Rapunzel in every group!

I agree! It's so versatile: she can look elegant but sassy at the same time, and it's just long enough to pin up if necessary. True queen. I'm so glad I let her influence my hair!

I think the super long, long Rapunzel hair is quite popular amongst young girls with romantic tendencies (and willing parents who will allow it). Although everyone I knew that had it inevitably cut it by 15 or so as they wanted to appear more adult. I also recall that many of their mothers were actually disappointed when they cut it. I suspect that was because it was a sign their daughter was growing older and no longer needed /wanted the hours of grooming the mothers would invest in their daughters' hair.

Aren't there always rumours Krylova is moving to Russia? But that Krylova stays in Detroit for her children? But no doubt Russia would be keen to get such a talented coach.

Well, this time it was Elena Tchaikovskaya who said Krylova is definitely moving back.
Rumor says she will work with Oleg Volkov.

Thanks for the further details. Sounds like there is fact to the rumours? Perhaps there will be big changes to the ice dance scene in Detroit.

Although maybe Camerlengo will continue on at DSC and seek another coach to join him in partnership? As I understand it, was it that Camerlengo focused more on the choreography and Krylova on the technical side?

Are Krylova and Camerlengo no longer together? I am very very behind on this stuff.

Ok, rumor has it Krylova is moving to Russia.
Anybody knows something?
Tchaikovskaya said so on a Russia-1 TV channel, on "Morning Today" edition (03-19-2018).

Sakhanovich came back to St Petersburg and moved to Angelina Turenko (Gubanova’s coach).
My understanding is that part of the reason is her family/parents are in St Pete, and it is still difficult for her to live in Moscow alone, and expensive as well.
