Were any of you watching that Olympics when the whole thing went down? It was very ugly. I know I stopped watching figure skating for quite a few years and then Chan and V/M brought me slowly back in. Figure skating really dropped in ratings. Just let the skaters skate. I think they want that too.

I get the impression that at least some of the negativity that P/C receive is blowback from how people feel about Gailhaguet, how disgusted they are that he still has power in the sport, and they think P/C benefit unfairly from it.

I truly enjoy both teams, and I was looking forward to a quality battle where each team is judged fairly. But at GPF, when Christine Hurth gave VM's SD lift +1 GOE, especially when every other judge gave it a +3, that's when things went south for me real fast. Suddenly it looked like judging was back to game playing, and that tarnishes everyone. PC don't need help like that in order to win, and if Didier was behind it, that's a total shame.

Really? hmmm.. Ive never felt an ounce of arrogance from her...

To me Moir is pretending to be something he isn't... dont know how and I can't explain why its just the feeling I get from him....

I also think he seems kinda show-offy. But Ill stop there not to get too negative.

I just love P&C.... Well, Ill be rooting for them at Worlds...

Not really, because like I said, after GPF, it seemed like the memo was out that judges should no longer judge actual performances, but just do whatever is needed to boost the scores of their favorites.

But with a FD that breaks the record each time they perform it,what´s wrong with their style? This guy is really strange! Just re-watched both programs again and they did great!!!

Can someone with knowledge of the French Federation please explain to me how Didier is still around? Presumably he got elected at some point. He seems to cause as many problems for the skaters he's meant to be helping as he does for everyone else.

I can't believe he said that. This "style" was their strength and the one thing I think they shouldn't change!!!

I was rooting for V&M because I'm Canadian (full disclosure!) and they are my favorite team. But even I wasn't sure about how MR would go up against Moonlight Sonata (also a sentimental favorite for obvious reasons!) because it is a stunning, stunning, stunning piece. They move like moonlight over the ice. When I saw their program at one of the Grand Prix events, I was sure they would win the Olympics because it is an amazing program. There is one moment after their twizzles and right after Guillame is sort of spinning by himself, that they are skating backwards and they accelerate like nothing I have ever seen. It was incredible to watch.
