Can't Help Falling In Love ... with Hubbell & Donohue (fan thread #2)

if CB beats BS, it helps HD

Oh I see. But it also wouldn’t necessarily be good for H/D if C/B got 2 silvers though right? I guess it would depend on how they stack up against W/P in France.

H/D’s free dance is the only one so far this year that I immediately loved on first sight. I don’t understand the people who say it’s boring. I’m captivated from the first second to the last, they skate to the music so perfectly.

I can't even think about the tie breakers that will be needed after Skate America settles. I also wonder if Cappellini/Lanotte have any political support to have them avoid a tie break scenario or if they have to do a tie break and have some political support, if Skate America will be a high scoring event in order to get C/L higher scores than other teams that also placed 2nd and 3rd in their GP events. I also wonder if SA will be a high scoring event to give the Shibs better scores than they received at Rostelecom Cup. Their scores there was quite high but we know it could always go higher.

Ok I’m exhausted just watching them. I love that they are giving us this behind the scenes look between these videos and Madison’s blog. Also, that in video #2 Zach says they want to continue. :biggrinbo

They were fantastic last week and I thought they should have been second in both programs. They skated with a ton of confidence all weekend and I loved the way they nailed the twizzels to open the FD. I hope they are still able to make the GPF.

^I hope they do end up continuing! I know skating is $$$, so I hope they're able to land some sponsorships soon. There's still so much room for their skating to grow, and it's incredible how much they've been improving as it is; I just watched their FD again and their ice coverage is so much better than it used to be. I'm really impressed.

I know we're in the middle of CoC right now, but I can't wait to see them again next week at NHK! Really hope they get the silver there.

Personally I quite enjoyed the up-close view of Zach's biceps and arms starting around minute 4 in part 3. I think Zach might quite like to be PSOTY this year. :smokin:

Zach's wiggly derriere in the first couple of minutes of part 1 wasn't bad either. Not as marvelously luscious as Paul Poirier's, but mighty fine nonetheless. :grope:

Not to be forgotten, Madi is quite the goddess herself, as always. :hat1:

I would love them for the bronze too:) But I would like it for W/P too:rolleyes: Whoever skates the best I'll be happy for either.
Add Shibutanis for me as well. I would be really happy for any of those three teams. Although I do love upsets (not when it comes to my main favorites, of course ;) :D).

New SB in the SD tonight: 76.31 (40.30+36.01). But not going to lie, I feel like they are getting hosed on the PCS.
Oh Yes. Their execution is outstanding.

EDIT : and this is where you see they are wonderful technicians, they seem to never get higher PCS than the rest of the field, yet they manage to either be very close or beat them.
If only judges sepereate TES and PCS for everybody else too...

Madi/Zach were underscored in the SD. Just about every element scored the same as C/L and they lost the pcs to C/L.
Madi/Zach performed every element better than C/L, yet they were not rewarded on the GOE.

I hope they score PB in the FD tomorrow. I am hoping for a 115ish score.

Honestly with such a great technical content and skating skills, I don't understand why they are not coming closer to the top 2. Everytime I see them skate, I'm thinking that this Olympic podium is getting REALLY close to them. In comparaison with others TODAY, plus the scoring, They could reach 77-78 for SD, and they can have that 115 scores for the FD. PCS reputation scoring are annoying.
Oh and by underscored I don't care about the 76ish, I mean compare to what the other received.

I couldn't believe it when I realized that both C/L AND S/K beat them on PCS. Come on now. That was such a strong performance, I honestly was expecting 77ish.
Looks like I got my wish and they're last to skate in the FD tonight. I hope they keep their cool and make a strong statement in their performance. Best of luck.

Definitely one of my fav SD's this season. They continue to improve (SS, Speed, movements, etc), I really want to see them take US Nats.

in terms of SDs H/D > S/S > C/B this season.

Yes. When I saw that C/L have better PCS than them, I was like wtf. And now reading this thread I learn than S/K have better too ? I don't understand it. I haven't seen H/D live so I can't apprehend their speed really well and S/K look to have great speed, but that is not the only thing PCS is about.

That said, I don't really like their program this year. But it doesn't change a thing about their capability as skater. They are more worthy of 77-78 imo.
