A Quick Question About Pairs Lifts

I had thought the ISU had passed a rule a year ago saying a skater in a lift could only grab her blade once during that lift. In other words, one blade grab per lift. If you did 2 lifts, you could grab your blade once for each lift.

I noticed this rule change because I don't like blade grabbing in lifts, since I feel it destroys the line. So any limitation met with my approval.

But I noticed during Skate Canada (and I think I noticed in an earlier competition) that Aliona Savchenko grabbed her blade twice during her final free skate lift, going for each blade once during that lift.

So my question is, did I make up the rule up :COP:out a thwarted desire to see less of the blade grabbing, or was there such a rule but the rule was thrown out, or is Savchenko violating the rule either willfully or out of ignorance?

Theoretically that's four questions, or maybe three and a half questions, but since they all cover the same possibly imagined rule, I figured they qualified as one.

Feel free not to limit your answers though!

I don't remember this rule. I also don't know why it would be a rule (though most of what the ISU does makes little sense). The most sensible "rule" I could think of is that you can grab the blade once to count as a criterion for a level, which in that case you could grab your blade as many times as you wanted in a lift, but it would only count once for obtaining a level. I could be completely wrong also and am too lazy right now to look.
