Glamour Puss thread: Sephora, I wish I could quit you...

BYW I wore a pure white blouse and pants to my wedding because I'm lightly tanned. In winter I'd have picked something else or would have looked dire. My new husband, a silver-haired blue-eyed guy with a tan, looked wonderful in a white linen shirt, very Israeli. All told we didn't look bad for a couple of oldies. ;)
Congratulations on your marriage! Mazal tov!

Congratulations, PRlady!

I got three lipsticks from ColourPop cosmetics, since I wanted to try them. They were nice, but I lost my favorite of the 3.
Not a problem, they are only $6, I'll just replace it.
Hey, $30 gives me free shipping...

So my Jeffree Star lipsticks came in.
From his Summer Chrome collection. I was afraid they would not look good on face without foundation, but in a sheer layer - I love it. I got this colour.
I also got Pumpkin pie for fall.

I dont know about you ladies, but I am just using minimum concealer, highlighter and a lipbalm during the day. Maybe mascara if I am feeling it.
Friend got me one of my all time fav Loreal Telescopic. That one is no longer sold here :(

Nice lipsticks @kosjenka.

I've also lightened up the makeup a bit for summer.

I have been using Rimmel BB cream (only $7!), Tarte waterproof concealer and a bit of powder.

Then add a small bit of bronzer/blush and sometimes highlight.

I am using my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit pallete (holiday 2015 release) pretty much daily. I lurve this pallete so much. :swoon:

I am using my MAC Paint Pot in Painterly almost exclusively for eyes these days (it just smooths my eyelid without adding much colour.)

I am more tan now so I am enjoying using some of the darker products in my collection.

I got the Tarte Paaaaarty blush and lip set for the Sephora birthday gift.

The blush is a really pretty peach/pink colour but looks better on me when I am fair so I'm looking forward to using it more in the Fall. The accompanying lip product was just meh.... :shuffle:

I've finished up using the L'Oreal Lash Paradise mascara. I really like it but I stil prefer Maybelljne the Rocket Waterproof.

FYI.... I got an email saying that Sephora reward points will now expire if there is no activity (purchase, redemption) for 18 months.

No biggie for me but I know some ladies here don't have good access to Sephora and may want to keep that in mind.

I am in the middle of moving and am so looking forward reorganizing my makeup and cosmetics. <I have a special draw in my walk in closet reserved for it. Maybe I should do inventory list. Never enough blushers :D

Love Candyass color and name

I use undereye concealer, a must for me, tightliner, CC cream, mascara, cream blush and my trusty Anastasia Brow Wiz. And the Clarins lip oil in Honey. Yes, I am high maintenance but I also live in San Francisco where there is no summer. Sometimes I wear either one of my Bite Beauty lipsticks in Sake or Molasses.

Ooooh and Bite Beauty just busted out these liquid lipsticks, lots of mauvy plummy pinks! http://www.sephora.com/amuse-bouche...cid2=new_at_sephora_lp_top_us_skugrid:p420623

:2faced:

I went to Sephora to return a couple of things and tried out Bite Beauty liquified. Bought Chutney, that color is so me and oh joy! Loved Purée--it's the most wearable muted coral red ever and the one I'd been looking for as a red that doesn't make look like The Joker. Alas, they are out of stock online and in store. Will wait. Also waiting for them to restock Éclair, another color I could wear every day.

I will hit Sephora after pay day. :)

Okay. So, my hair is growing back really, really slowly. (thanks Tamoxifen!) Plus: I only have to shave my legs once a month. Minus: The hair on my head is still short. I don't like myself with short hair. However, I do very much like the color (white, with a hint of silver), so my plan was to get extensions. Except, no one in Omaha has them in that color. So the nice lady at the wig store pulled out the wig I currently have, but in white, with a hint of silver. It's what I would eventually aspire my hair to being.

My mom then said no, just get the same wig because you'll eventually color your hair. Even though I have said a million times that the reason I still wear my wig is because of the LENGTH not the color. Arg. I mean, I probably will eventually color it, but since this color is trendy at the moment, why not go for it.

What do you guys think?

Not wanting to interfere with PL's hair dilemma... I colored mine today, but I was in a rush and decided not to mix 3 colors. Fail! It's too dark and too flat. At least it's demi so I can wash it back to normal by the end of the month.

:wuzrobbed

I'll make sure I do a Sephora run on my US trips whether I need anything or not.

And I'm in BB cream and mascara most of the time now. All those beautiful MUG eyeshadows going to waste.

Can someone dye extensions for you? A friend of mine had some dyed by a salon. In Omaha, actually.

I'm on FSU waiting for my nails to dry. I have an event tomorrow that requires wearing bright colors and didn't have anything that went with "safety green" so I bought a Sally Hansen Gel in Tidal Wave. It looked like a very bright royal blue in the bottle. Unfortunately, it's actually a bit darker than I wanted but still works. I couldn't see getting a mani for a color I'm likely to take off by the weekend.

I was a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding over the weekend. She had hair and makeup people available to the bridal party. I had my hair done - I have long, thick, curly hair and they were able to tame it, yay! - but I couldn't bring myself to spend $115 on makeup application, so I did my own. I did my regular daily routine but added a bit more fun eye makeup. I was the only bridesmaid out of five to not have professional makeup, but I got compliments all day on how fresh and natural my makeup looked.

Over the years I've learned that "Professional Make Up Artist" title does not always equal good. That happened to me when I was a bridesmaid too. The "Artist" opened up her kit and it was 100% MAC (real good pros rarely stock just 1 brand in their kit) and I didn't like how she did the bride's face. I did my own and got more compliments than the poor caked on bride.

I don't think I've ever been 100% happy with a professional doing my make-up. But I also grew up doing make-up for skating so though I don't generally wear much make-up I'm pretty comfortable doing more intense make-up for events like weddings where I'll be photographed a lot.

I always do my own makeup. Even for my own wedding I did it myself.

I did go for a pre wedding consult and bought some new products though.

Then just recreated the look myself, using a much softer touch and with less product.
