I Have Got to Stay Out of Sephora (and other glamourpuss issues)

I don't think the Clarisonic will help with that. It does make my skin super smooth, but I haven't noticed that it decreased the breakouts that I get during that time of the month.

These are just wee little bumps - I don't even get time of the month breakouts (thank you, BCP). Today I used my little $3 Body Shop facial brush instead of the flat loofah thing I usually use, and my skin looks and feels smoother. Maybe I'll stick with my manual Clarisonic

I was actually looking at the Sugar Fresh lip gifts and the Bite Beauty Agave mask today at Sephora.com. Any experiences with those?
Yes. Nothing special. Not worth it IMO.

You guys are making me want a Clarisonic now. Amazon has it on sale for $149, down from $150! Does it help with clogged pores? I get little bumps on my temples and forehead sometimes - not blackheads, so I can't extract them.
Sounds like milia. It can be professionally extracted which tends to be outrageously expensive at the dermatologist's office.

I watched the Skate Canada FDs with the baby feet thing on my feet.
Let's see how it'll go...

How did it turn out? I am always looking for stuff to soften up my feet. They're an issue all year long, even in the winter when they stay covered up.

I know I'm late here, but one of my friends sent me pictures of her new holiday collection from OPI. This isn't her site, but there are definitely some must haves, especially the blue, the sparkly red (I already have one, but it chips horribly so I hope this is an improved formula), and the sparkly black (can never have too many of those). There are a few that are typically redundant, but there are some that are worth looking into. This blogger even has comparison swatches so you can figure out if you've got some dupes already, which is highly appreciated for a polish whore like myself!

The thing comes full of instructions and seemed very thorough as to what one should expect.

You wear the "socks" for 60 min and then wash off (it's a plastic sock lined with some of that disposable fabric that is soaked with the solution).
I didn't want the skin on the top of my feet to shed, so I applied a moisturizer there before it.

The skin should start peeling off 10 days after the applications and go on for some two weeks.
They don't recommend you to use any moisturizer during this wait/peeling off period.

It wasn't uncomfortable (they say you feel some tingling on your feet while with the socks, but didn't feel anything) but my feet are super dry right now.
I'll keep you posted.

Oh dear............. I need more polish like I need a hole in the head, but there are several there that are just calling my name..........

I don't think so. I just googled pictures and it's nothing like that! :yikes: Just flesh colored bumps that never rise to the level of pimple or even whitehead. From a foot away, my skin looks perfectly clear, but in that magnifying mirror ... It occurred to me that it could be scar tissue from previous acne - I used to get it quite badly on my temples.

The skin on my feet has most definitely started to peel off (three days after).

The thinner parts (like in between my toes) began coming off yesterday and, today, there was huge, thick piece of skin under my heel coming off after I took a bath.
Pulling the skin off has been extremely satisfying. :P
The skin underneath is not too sensitive and I can tell that my feet will very homogeneous after the whole thing is complete.

So far, I'm a satisfied customer.

i was sucked in by sephora's clutch and samples promo. and i'm a marketer! got a new set of brushes and some bumble and bumble invisible oil stuff.

I don't lip balm on purpose. I usually get a stick of fabulous lips free when I buy Bliss hand cream. Otherwise, it's Aquaphor for me. I use it everywhere, especially on elbows and feet.

I got sucked in one of those beauty boxes subscriptions. I mainly agreed to them cause I saw what companies signed on, but I am pretty sure it will be a one month deal for me.

Alright peeps, I have 6 hours to go before the Sephora VIB sale.

I am getting the following:
Marc Jacobs style icon 20 plush Palette
Make up Forever Plexi Gloss Set
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Glow Palette
First Aid Beauty Peace, Joy and FAB kit
Ole Henriksen The Works Kit
Beseme Beauty Classic Color Lip Stick in American Beauty 1945 and Cherry Red 1935

I really want some Nars and Bobbi Brown items but I am going to wait until Nars and BB have their black friday or cyber monday sale to pick up times from the brands websites.

That Marc Jacobs palette looks stunning.

I have to wait for the non rouge sale on the 11th, but this is what I think I will be getting:
Black Tea Age Delay Eye Concentrate I have a sample and this feels so good on my eyes. Probably too pricey though.
Beauty Unmasked I love masks for 'me' time, and this is a good way to try a couple. I was also considering Thomas Roth Mini Mask Magic instead
Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Mulberry I haven't tried Bite Beauty and I want to. I don't know if this is too dark on me, but life is too short to not wear bold lipstick.
Panda's Dream White Hand Cream Who am I kidding I am buying a container ;)

btw if you are shopping online, I hope everyone is using Ebates or the other online cashback - I think it is called Mr. Rebates? Ebates is usually 4% cash back at Sephora. Send me an inbox message if you want a referral link.

I went to Sephora yesterday and spent more than $100 without any rebates or anything. I'm a VIB and never got coupons or anything in the mail I can remember, but OTOH I tend to throw out my junk mail without looking at it. :wall:

Anyway, thank you all for the Makeup Forever HD foundation tip. This is really, really good (the liquid -- I tried the stick and it was like pancake TV makeup, way too heavy.) I look natural but "brightened" which is just what I want.

I also got an Urban Decay lipstick, my first, but the color was so close to my own lipcolor I couldn't resist, just a tiny bit brighter. I avoided the Dior Addict lipstick I really wanted because it is not in my soul to pay $35 for a lipstick. And I rewarded incoming SO with another bottle of Tokyo Rose Everything and Nothing (which by the way is a unisex scent that smells really good on guys, much better than that I-break-bottles-with-my-teeth stuff that is a lot of men's fragrance.)

The Sephora lady can lecture me all she likes about using a foundation brush, I prefer my fingers, it's faster and I use less with no brush to clean.

I am proud to say I took my mom to the department store and matched and bought her Kanebo Sensai foundation, got her GIvenchy eyebrow pencil and lipstick.
I also got myself a Dior blush, because I love the color and it was on sale.

@PRlady I think Dior lipstick is almost 60$ here... :S

Selling a product! I apply with fingers too, but I'll do a gentle once-over with a clean dense buffing brush to smooth out the product. Hardly dirties the brush and gives a nice finish. I hate the flat paddle brushes that they market as foundation brushes. Real Technique sponge is great but sponges in general soak up far too much product.

I don't think I've ever paid more than $10 for a lipstick. $60 is an entire outfit for me. I am so Dutch. :slinkaway

I also use my fingers to apply foundation. I feel like it helps warm the products up and helps it meld into your skin. I've used the beauty blender but prefer fingers.

Anyone else have issues with Bobbi Brown lipsticks? I put it on and it's not sticking to my lips. It's coming off pretty much as soon as I put it on and press my lips together.

Yes, I think they are great. What type of lipstick from her line are you using? Could be you have a bad product.

In regard to using make up brushes, I like using brushes. Some products like concealer I use my fingers but most foundation(outside of Armani Maestro) I use brushes. I feel the coverage is better. You can not get an airbrush finish with foundation with your fingers. Only a brush can give a flawless, even finish. Actually using a brush to apply makeup, you use less product because you are spreading the product more evenly across the skin. In regards to sponges, the beauty blender is a life changing product in my opinion. I have yet to discover any product that does not work well with it(powder, liquid, cream). It does not soak up a lot of product and finish it gives is simply fantastic.

Also, I have found that not all brushes work the same. I love my sephora pro brushes.

I love the make up for ever stick foundation. Sorry you didn't like it PRlady. I use 4 to 5 swipes(forehead, cheeks, chin, nose) for medium coverage. Sometimes, I use a dampened brush(sephora pro#56 or make up for ever #122). I have dry skin and cream foundations help my face retain moisture. Also, my skin feels smoother and softer when I use a cream foundation.

Wow.

I can never get the coverage or the finish with my fingers that a beauty blender gives.

Do you pour the product from the bottle onto the blender or on the back of your hand then use the blender to pick up product?

I either put foundation on the back of my hand or put it on my face and blend with the beauty blender.

I find that the beauty blender eats alot of foundation and so does my skin.

So when I use them together, it doesn't work out well unless I use a ton of product.

I find beauty blender works better for concealer, cream blush or cream highlighter than foundation.

Just got an email for a 20% off event this weekend, and even better, Omorovicza is back at sephora.ca! (It was unavailable for most of this year, I suspect because Holt Renfrew put in a counter and wanted an exclusive - I've seen other high end brands disappear from the Canadian website too.)

I put foundation on with my fingers. :p Y'all can see my face, so go ahead and :drama:.
My main objective as far as makeup goes is to be able to walk out in public and not be ashamed.
But what do I know about glamour.....I'm wearing a $4 thrift store men's plaid jacket with my jeans today. :shuffle:

what is omorovicza?

I put foundation on with my fingers too, then my concealer (also with fingers), and then I bust out the drugstore sponges to blend everything. I don't like foundation or concealer brushes, and I find too much product is absorbed if I use sponges for application.
