Three-time & reigning National Champions. Finished 4th at 2022 OWG, 9th at 2018 OWG & 8th at 2014 OWG. Compete at WCh since 2013. Teamed up in spring 2011. Both were World Junior Champions with their previous partners: Chock in 2009 and Bates in 2008. Moved to Canada for training in 2018. She designs their costumes and they won the ISU Skating Award for Best Costume in 2023 and 2020.

Nobody commits to a thing as hard as Chock/Bates. As a lover of The Dark Side of the Moon, I’m happy to see a new reinterpretation, tho I hate this music being chopped up.

The beginning of this program is the most interesting part about it. Then it becomes a bunch of nothing and slow-moving, lack of ice coverage highlight moves. I mean just watch how little ice they cover. 90% of it is circles around center ice.

I mean, those twizzles are really just medicore compared to what we've seen and they almost max out on the element. GMAFB. Edges all over the place on the one-foot sequence, too.

Bollixed the first lift, cautious looking in the twizzles, this is not looking great for Chock and Bates. But they also irritate the hell out of me so I'm not the best person to comment

Fear/Gibson are like Chait/Sakhnovski - if you can't glide and skate run around really fast. Just that Sakhnovski actually could skate, so they also had an option `lift a partner, do the edges, put her back on the ice when done'. But that's Smolkin thing now
