Ted’s claim this was the best JGP of the last 6-7 years seems a bit overblown. That span includes the Kagiyama and Malinin years, Sato and Miura, etc. Plus it’s easier to have more clean skates with fewer quad and 3A attempts.

I hadn’t watched the Men until I went to the last FS group when I should have been sleeping. I tried to convince myself not to uber Beck Strommer by being annoyed at all the arms-over-head jumps, but even that didn’t do it, as I saw glimpses of what I most love about pre-Zmievskaia Weir, Paul Wylie, Jason Brown, and Matt Savoie.

This is not going to end well :fragile: .

(Even if we get Victor Pfeiffer in KnC)

I’m definitely ubering Beck Strommer! Another gorgeous quality skater. Speed, edges, line, posture. Those landing positions! Is Beck just a late bloomer or did he start skating late? The height and distance on the Rippon lutzes! Between Lucas Broussard and Beck I’ve got lots of ubering ahead.

Beck Strommer, who turned 18 in February, has competed at 2 consecutive U.S. Nationals (6th place both times) and Cranberry Cup Internationals (won gold last year which probably helped him get his first JGP? as well as gold this year).
His earliest coach, as listed in his Team USA profile, is Cindy Sullivan (2018-21) in Westminster, Colorado, who also coached Mariah Bell in her younger years.

ICYMI, this Fan Zone article about Beck's interest in choreography was posted in the U.S. Men's news thread in GSD before he competed in Linz:
