I think that program is very well done. And not just cos I come from the place with the Rocky statue on the Art Museum steps.

Fear/Gibson - I was just thinking that Lilah’s twizzles were less tight than usual and then she put her foot down. The programme is looking better than a month ago and there are lots of small changes which have helped but it’s still really open and IMO their weakest FD since You Raise Me Up.

To be honest, D/S would have won without the fall.
perish the thought 😢

So I must say, that I am less emotionally against them than other "Georgian" still training in Russia or calling themselves "Russian girl" - at least Gleb seems like a very decent human in several aspects, including protesting openly against the war which is not something I see a lot of Russians doing regardless of where they live.

Yeah, plus, Diana's mom is at least half-Georgian, so it isn't as though they lack any ties to the country.

And, while it will suck for KazRev to miss out on Worlds this year, they'll still go to Euros and, chances are, with the way things are shaping up, get back to Worlds in 2025.

Good for him. Doesn't make their results any less disgusting.

Is this about their joint "no war" world in palm of hands instagram from almost 2 years ago or has he/they done more since?

No idea. I dont follow them. If they didnt it is still much more than 99% of Russians are doing right now. Which isnt really a compliment to them but rather a snark in the other direction but still better than going to a Putin ralley with a Z on your stomach.
My standards are not very high if it comes to protests from Russians, I admit. Happy for the smallest sign.

I haven't seen anything else from either in the last 18 months, though the fact that they have NOT returned to Russia and switched countries is probably the most that we can expect or hope from them as long as things are the way they are in Russia.

He also got his Green Card so they may be planning to stay in the Us long-term.

Well I asked because you said he protested openly against the war ;)
That post was made about 3 days after the invasion. I haven't seen anything since and they must be good with the RUS fed to get that release when others tried and failed. So was there nothing after that 3 days because it didn't serve them well to be vocal?

Just asking because I see it often about how brave and admirable they are because they "protested" and all I see is that one instagram posts. And if that is all there is then people have really low bars for these things.

Oh, give it a rest. They both still have family in Russia and they didn't get their release until 4 months ago. They surely had to play nice and keep quiet for the sake of that release at the minimum.

yes, I agree - that is what I wrote as well. I think that is already more than 99% of the Russians did so I do think that goes into their favor opposed to other skaters who are openly supporting the regime.
Like I said, I do not follow them so no idea if anything more was done but I did indeed mean this tiny protest, yes.
and I liked how he protected Diana from Brennan, so there is that as well.

For skaters like Gubanova or Metelkina/Berulava, I am not even watching them anymore

So I just watched Davis/Smolkin and like this program has it all- faux tutu, Russian skaters who are trying to do ballet, a fall, skaters who appear to avoid edges with is honestly so relatable, sexy wall grabbing + seductive swanning, face stroking, nonsense choreography, and music edits that sound like record skips! Icons only.

I don't need to give anything a rest. I rarely talk about this. Just trying to get some sense of logic and reality around this myth that has developed around this couple.

I'm catching up on the RDs I missed. Vadym's "Yeah, that's OK, we'll take it" face at the scores slays me.
