I just finished Lessons in Chemistry on Apple TV and I really loved it! I found it very charming - Brie Larson is great in it.
Did you read the book, and if so was the show like the book? The book annoyed the crap out of me and so I haven’t considered watching the show. I do have a free AppleTV+ tried right now so I could…

I did not read the book but enjoyed the show.

If you were annoyed by the letter writing connection it is in the show but not until the end.

I did not read the book, only watched the show. I did read about the differences and I wonder if I would want to read the book or not, unsure.

I recently binged on all three seasons of Only Murders in the Building. Oh, how fun. What a great show. It's just so funny. And even thought I figured out the plot twists way ahead of time in season 3, I still thoroughly enjoyed it and thought Martin Short was phenomenal. Not to mention Meryl... She's just so good. I was very surprised to see her and Paul Rudd doing this show. It seemed like they had a blast.

I'm also pleasantly surprised at Selena Gomez's acting. She's very good!

I also binged on Happy Valley, season 3. Oh, I've been waiting for years. The acting is still superb and it was a very satisfying conclusion.

I'm currently watching Interview with the Vampire. Jacob Anderson is so talented. And I love Sam Reid as Lestat. I'm on episode 3 and I'm really liking it so far.

I started streaming The Brothers Sun. I am already sad that there are only 8 episodes and will have to remind myself that I cannot stay up and binge them all night because I still have to work in the morning.

Hah - season 2 of Skymed already aired on CBC in Canada. I initially started watching because the series is set in my home province and I have a relative who works in Northern medicine. Usually I don't stick with the series that are heavy into soapy 20-30 year old stories but I have been enjoying this one.

All you fans of Australian TV, check out "The Artful Dodger." I believe it's on Disney+ in some places and Hulu in some places. The premise is basically that the Artful Dodger grew up and became a surgeon in Australia, but has to participate in one last heist to pay his gambling debts. I'm about halfway through and liking it so far -- except for the occasional gross-out medical moment! The cast is strong and the writing good.

So I ignored my internal warnings and binged. I love Michelle Yeoh in action sequences but this one proved she can act. She has one action sequence I remember but is brilliant through the whole season.

I nearly fell out of my chair: I was looking on Prime and I run across my favorite show of all time which was not streaming because of the cost of music used in the show. But something happened and now “Northern Exposure” is there. So Happy!!! Wow!!!!!! :cheer2::respec::rollin::40beers::cheer::watch::swoon:

Dammit, it's not on Prime in Australia. I never watched it consistently, but I did enjoy the bits I did see and would have happily watched it from the start. I'll keep an eye out though and see if it turns up later.

I hope it is only a matter of time. I understand the complete series was on sale in the US with the music removed and something substituted that sounded like redundant elevator music. Who wants that?

I was watching a rerun of Burn Notice (S6 E6 - Shock Wave). Fiona's release from jail scene was hysterical. The shot of her face as the gates opened was all soft lenses and fans gently blowing her hair back. The shot of her back as the gates opened was all normal lens and every hair lying perfectly still.

I snorted Mountain Dew out of my nose because the contrast was too funny.

That's interesting - I didn't know about the music issue and thankfully can't imagine elevator music. There are a lot of shows that used popular songs that appear to have no issue with repeats, but I wonder if perhaps that's why I have never seen anyone airing popular shows like Allie McBeal in reruns.

At any rate, Northern Exposure has been airing intact on cable in Canada for a while now and I have caught a number of episode. It's on APTN (Aboriginal People's Television Network), which makes sense based on the setting and characters.

Ali Wong and Steven Yeun have won the Best Actress & Actor Golden Globes in a Limited TV Series for Beef. Well deserved.

IMHO, Beef was probably the best Limited Series last year.

Elizabeth Debicki has won the Best TV Supporting Actress Golden Globe for The Crown. She is so tall! - and I noticed that she wore flats. 😆

Matthew MacFadyen has won the Best TV Supporting Actor Golden Globe for Succession.

I’m starting to wonder if The Bear is going to get shut out tonight - which will be too bad. IMHO, the second season was just genius.

Ebon was robbed! He played one of my favorite characters on TV the entire year. I actually would have been happy with any of the guys besides MacFadyen. I just hate Tom on Succession so much lol.

Ricky Gervais has won the Best Stand Up Comedy Performance Golden Globe. I saw it (Netflix) and thought it was MEH.

Personally, I thought Chris Rock should have won. He knocked it out of the park in Outrage. 😂

It was the first ever award for this category. Gervais wasn’t even there - Jim Gaffren accepted it on his behalf.

Kieran was SO deserving. The work he did in the funeral episode broke me as I thought about my own experience at my dad’s funeral. He was amazing the whole season.
