And….that’s a wrap! The Golden Globes only ran four minutes over! Nice job! 😂

The Emmys are coming up - It looks like Succession, The Bear, and Beef will rack up those awards.

For The Bear in particular, the Emmy's are for season 1, the Globes are season 2. That's why Ayo Edebiri is nominated for Supporting Actress at the Emmy's. They bumped her up to lead for season 2.

Elizabeth Debicki has won the Best TV Supporting Actress Golden Globe for The Crown. She is so tall! - and I noticed that she wore flats. 😆
She often does. She's just under 6'3", and frequently towers over her male costars, so IMO she probably just got used to wearing flats. Also, it has to be a lot more comfortable, LOL. I love her. She was AMAZING in The Night Manager, and The Man from UNCLE as well. Played the vulnerable heroine in one, and the seductive villain in the other, and did equally well at both. Haven't seen her in The Crown yet. (I know, what am I waiting for. I have it in my queue, just haven't gotten there yet.)

I've been scrolling through Peacock for random shows to watch now that I have the $2/month sale for US Nationals.

I found The Traitors with Alan Cumming as host. The reality stars annoy me but I also get to listen to Alan Cumming speak occasionally. I do like the premise behind the show. The contestants compete in tasks to add money to the final pot. There are 3 traitors that try to betray the group and win the show. The Faithful have to figure out who the traitors are and get rid of them to win.

Once I started watching that version, the Australian version popped up in my feed. I might start that one. Also wondering if the Dutch version is streamed anywhere because they started it.

It reminds me of when Fox tried to do a serial killer reality show. There was one person that "killed" off the rest of the contestants. I believe it was the same year they did a military boot camp reality show. Those 2 shows were more interesting than The Bachelor and any of the other romantic bullcrap reality shows that were out but America apparently disagreed with me. They only had one season of these far more interesting shows.

The military boot camp show is still going, fyi. It's called "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test," I believe.

Does anyone remember a reality show where the contestants had to evade police capture and "escape" jail? Yet another 1 season show. IIRC the successful teams camped in the woods and hid for real. Which made them boring.

Which probably why it was only one season.

There are very few reality tv shows I will watch. I sampled American Idol and The Batchelor and maybe even Survivor and they just don't do it for me. I watched The Amazing Race for a number of seasons before the format got old and I watched some seasons of Dancing with the Stars. I think that's it. Oh, the Skating with Stars thing that Kristy Swanson was in. But only because it was skating.

I think I like shows where the contestants have to do hard things Like learning to be a ballroom dancer or solve puzzles and complete tasks.

Agreed the boring contestants killed the escape show.

I tend to like the reality comps where they have to create things.

Face Off (movie makeup)
Blown Away (glassblowing)
Glow Up (Makeup, but I'm really tired of the judge conslutting all the time)

For awhile I was on a "folks today living in the past" kick with shows on PBS whether it be a rural American pioneers or living in Victorian or Edwardian times in England or stateside. I thought the shows were interesting and I came away with a greater appreciation living here and now. I wonder how the residents then would find our lives now.

I got sucked into Traitors too, though it’s really not something I’d typically be interested in.

If you haven’t watched Skin Wars on Netflix (assuming it’s still there) you’d probably like that too.

The UK Traitors is on Crave in Canada and as a longtime Claudia Winkleman fan (YouTube was an amazing place to watch British panel shows once upon a time, now I have to put a little more work in) I really enjoyed it but I accidentally stalled out partway through season 1 and I really need to go back.

Same. They're also more likely to be the ones where people aren't on them for the publicity or to become a star. Great British Sewing Bee is my favourite, and I do miss Stricty Come Dancing, which isn't shown here. The Australian Dancing With the Stars is nowhere near as good (we don't get the US version either).

ECHO - I loved this series but it is not nearly as violent and bloody as I thought it was going to be. Really loved the ground level story telling. Made me want to watch Hawkeye again. :cheer2:

It's much better than I thought it would be. Still too much violence for me but I do like that they are stylizing some of it. It helps.

The “Game of Thrones” producers have returned with, I believe, an even more ambitious project. I heard of the books when they won the Hugo Award and when I read that Obama was a fan. Here is the triailor for “3 Body Problem”:

La Brea .... did they change out some actors or maybe I'm getting shows mixed up. Some of these actors seem different to me.

Dinasour fights. Awesome. Oh how I missed this crazy show. I have no idea what the heck is going on any more and it don't matter. Where else you gonna see someone trying to charge a laptop via solar power while bein' chased off by dinasours.

I started streaming The Brothers Sun. I am already sad that there are only 8 episodes and will have to remind myself that I cannot stay up and binge them all night because I still have to work in the morning.
I have been watching this. Really enjoying it.

The funniest moment was the dinosaurs at the party

Last night's ep was super fun but I have NO clue how they're gonna wrap up this show in six episodes (which is all they got for this final season).

And I read an article that said a few cast members are no longer full time series regulars which is why some of them weren't in the ep much or got taken off the show somehow (i.e. Josh and Riley disappearing).
