I am boggled by the judges of best in show (one dog from each group) can hold all those breed standards in their heads. Unless they get advance notice of which breeds have won and can brush up on just those standards?

Saw Penny on Canadian news this evening. She certain looks intelligent and gentle. They said the Dog Show did something to honour the memory of Catherine O'Hara and her appearance in the movie Best in Show.
Also turns out Penny is a Canadian bred & owned dog so that's fitting, though if a terrier had won it would have been more spot-on.
Also they mentioned that the man who handled her at the show was the handler of the last Doberman who won years ago, and that this was his last time handling a dog at the show as he's retiring.
