Trusova still has an absolute 0% success rate of landing the triple axel, why is that ? She seems to be obsessive in landing this elusive jump.

It must annoy her that people are labeling her as the girl that cant land a tiple axel. Is it really mental ? or that pitch forward landing the issue ?
Skaters like Wakaba, You, aging Tuk can still land it, even juniors like Muravieva, Samodelkina, Akataieva. Titova

Nobody cares now how many quads she can land, coz other ladies can jumps quads too
so the question in everyones lips now, Where is her TRIPLE AXEL and WHY SHE CANT LAND IT ?

How about a 4th choice that she will start regularly landing it next year? You assume she will never land it yet she has been competing with it for only 2 seasons, one of which disrupted by Covid. There are a lot of male skaters who took years to get a triple axel and then when they got it, it became a consistent jump. Ie Adam Rippon and Jason Brown come to mind but there are others.

Trusova has been landing it in practices since she was younger than 15. A Skater like Muravieva who only learned to land it after the JGP, is landing it effortlessly, why is that ?

I voted only domestically, likely in the test skates. Sadly, I’m not confident that she’ll make it through next season.
Trusova is a power skater, she will still get huge scores with her quads
but she will need the triple axel to stay ahead with other russian ladies domestically in the SP

You have juniors like Muravieva, Samodlekina, Titova, Akatieva landing it like a piece of cake
while Trusova has been posting triple axel landing it in practices only since the age of 14.

Trusova's obsession with the triple axels is about landing it
and she needs it as an equalizer or nullify the buffer other ladies have with triple axel in the short.
Then She wont need to always play catch up with her quads in the Free

Im almost certain Trusova will again try it in Olympics

Isn't that what Insanity means ?, trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different result

All you need to do is look at junior boys and the top juniors do have triple axels very young and can experience trouble landing them in completion. Nathan has trouble with his 3 axel from time to time and you would think it would be an “easy” jump but he still experiences issues from time to time.

Who cares what juniors are doing now. Remember how Aliona was landing the best triple axel and now she doesn’t have the consistency on it . Jumps can come and go. Trusova may have a block now but I don’t think it is insurmountable. Watch in 4 years she may be rock solid with the jump if she’s still competing and her troubles will be a memory.

Let’s not pretend the lack of a 3Axel is her only flaw. Those under rotated quads, inability to skate cleanly, atrocious posture and nonexistent musical interpretation are her kryptonite as well.

Call this the opposite of the Trusova cheer thread. It is for the haters. Goodbye.
I dont tolerate hatred toward any skater.
In all honesty, it’s not a hatred toward Trusova, but toward the current state of figure skating that values attempted difficulty over quality execution. Skating should be about the complete package, not just attempted technical difficulty. I like Sasha the person who seems lovely and very determined, but I don’t have to like her skating or the current state of COP that rewards it.

I absolutely agree. The complete package was more about 6.0 system. But COP can be schyzophrenic !
I mean, it can reward so well Kostner or Brown, but at the same time, Valieva, Scherbakova or Trusova. Schyzophrenia for me. ;)

I think Trusova definitely choosed quantity over quality. She is very courageous, but this is not the skating I like.

I am in no serious technik but IMO her axel does not go up nearly enough to enable her to consistently nail a triple.

That said, if falling on a 3axel gets her similar points to a clean 2axel, perhaps she should keep trying for the off chance (however remote) that she lands it / stands up on it. Same for her quads. She probably only needs to land 3 of the 5 cleanly along with her other triples being clean to secure a medal.
