Vamos Shibs!!! . stream http://fan-tv.ru/channels/9-match-arena.html
Maia and Alex won Rostelecom cup!!. I have not seen their performance because my stream died, I'll look for the video.

They did what they needed to do at Rostelecom Cup.
However, they were so smart about what they want for their skating this season. It's hard to see if you only look at the program on its face. But it is really clear to me that they really wanted to work on some key things that may not be "innovative" but help them get to the next level: They skated with far more speed, more ice coverage and the step sequences had a lot more closed holds (and they were skating closer). I think they are where they want to be.
I think they're using a live version.
I agree about the pacing too. One thing I noticed is the beginning slow part was very reminiscent of Evolution in its choreography. I’m sure that was deliberate to an extent, but the music for the first half of Evolution really worked for that choreography but it doesn’t quite translate with the same impact to the slower section of Paradise. Maybe the choreo there should be tweaked to be a bit more specific to this current dance. It’s fine to leave some of the references to Evolution in but this didn’t start feeling like a new dance to me until the first lift.
Speaking of the first lift, that was a wow moment for me. Absolutely loved the little snippet of Fix You in the music! It fit in so well. All the new lifts were beautiful and well done. I like the idea and direction of this program a lot, and once they figure out the pacing and really turn up the performance and interpretation it’s going to be amazing.
Congratulations on winning Rostelecom Shibs! They’ve got plenty of time to work out the kinks before Skate America so I’m not worried.
Me neither. Despite some war weary hardcore skating fans like me being critical, it's obvious their FD is going for the broad Olympic audience and they want music to really get people up and feel something. I know people are complaining that this was too similar to Fix You, but the ending is quite different. This one is intended to be more of an explosion and a celebration while Fix You was supposed to be more catharsis.
Like I said with P/C : Don't expect Shibs to do a Polka. EVER (Nobody will like that).I actually don’t feel like this is similar to Fix You at all, strangely enough, although I was concerned it would be when they announced their music choice. You’re right, the entire feeling is completely different. Fix You was about pushing through their desperation to a better place while this dance is a celebration of where they are now and how far they’ve come.
I don’t really blame them for being artistically “safer” and going for something with broad appeal. It’s an Olympic year, literally everyone is doing this and playing to their strengths. People who want to criticize V/M and P/C will say they’re rehashing old programs too. That’s too simplistic of an interpretation for all 3 teams in my opinion.
Also I noticed a lot of the moves featured Maia -- her reaching to the audience, her trying to connect with Alext, etc. Again a subtle thing that won't get you inventive points, but really is about pushing their own personal skating/potential.

Look at those GOE, very well. And it seems that little by little they are convincing to judges about twizzles, but still 8.14 when I already saw other team with average twizzles getting more in another competition .
I can not find video of the medal ceremony

I’ve been hoping B.Esp commentary of their programs would appear too but no luck there either . Maybe they didn’t comment on dance?
There was CBC commentary with Kurt and Carol that I watched on TV. She was really complimentary of how strong a lot of their elements were already, especially the flow and speed they achieved into and out of their lifts, as well as the twizzles (of course).
