I must have lost track somewhere. They started the season with Miss Broadway/Black Betty, then created their Gloria Gaynor senior RD, then modified Gaynor into a junior RD. I can't think where another one comes in. Maybe they created another one and scrapped it somewhere along the way.

But if it's the fourth, that's even more impressive! :respec:

Congratulations on a great FD and the bronze medal at the Junior Grand Prix Final! :cheer2:

Interview with Golden Skate:

Darya Grimm / Michail Savitsky ?? 97.02 / 161.86

Michail: “I think we were quite engaged with the audience and the audience was engaged with us and that helped a lot.
It feels good that the hard work paid off. Being top at the Junior level shows us we have a future in the Senior category.”

Darya: “I tried to stay in the performance, concentrate on ourselves and not think too much of the outcome. But I am very glad to have won a medal now.”

Michail: “I think we are really happy and proud of what we achieved in such a short amount of time while working on new programs and switching coaching teams.”

They will skate Nationals next and most likely decide after Nationals who will be there coaching team. It will be between Maurizio Margaglio’s team in Helsinki and the team in Egna. They plan to do one competition ahead of Junior Worlds then but didn’t decide yet which.

Darya's post about the competition is captioned simply, "They're back"

(Click all the way through to the end to see video of all the medalists lifting up Noah Lafornara. )
It was great to see how happy they were with their Bronze. I have to admit that I had my doubts if they could medal again, but they had really two great skates in Grenoble. It's the first time this season that they looked again like themselves and not as if there is a huge burden weighing them down.

Are they skating as Seniors at German Nationals? Just trying to figure out what time they will skate and if a vpn will be needed to access the free tv broadcast. The Jr. RD looks like it will be at 2:55 a.m. ET in the U. S. As much as I like them I'm not sure I can do that

I watched the RD this morning and thought they were very good. I'm not much on technique for ice dance but they seemed very secure in the elements, smooth, and fast. I really enjoyed them and the rest of the competition.

Cross-posted from the competition thread:

Darya and Michail fell! I thought they looked just a bit off, and then he got a B on the one-foot (ETA: this went up on review), but that was a shocker. They'll win anyway because they had a 10-point lead in the RD. But I hope they're okay. I wonder if he's sick again; poor guy always seems to be dealing with some illness or other.

ETA: They win with a total of 160.53.

I was trying to figure out what the B meant since I don't think I've ever noticed it before and he went down and then Darya. It took a couple of seconds to get up and recover but I guess it was long enough to trigger the time violation.

So glad they won!

B means base level, which means the skater got none of the required features for an element. But sometimes they go back and review it later and the level goes up, and that happened here.

Short Interview on the DEU instagram stories. Michail talks about their changed mindset this season. They are trying to focus more on the performance and less on the scores and the judges.
