The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

Two other options:

Spin Doctors - Two Princes
Gin Blossoms - Hey, Jealousy
Ricky Martin - Livin' La Vida Loca (Just sneaks in at 1999 release date. I bet this one will be used.)

I will crack up laughing though if someone uses Third Eye Blind "Semi-Charmed Life" without realizing what it's about (ie. drug addiction and oral pleasure...LOL.)

I love Gin Blossoms but dancers would have to take amphetamines to skate to Hey Jealousy, it’s too fast. Found Out About You could make for a good love-hate RD.

Roxette for some Euro team - Fading Like a Flower? Something’s Always Wrong, another lyrical relationship song. Kiss From a Rose. Building a Mystery.

(If anyone is concluding I had relationship drama in the ‘90s, well….)

Guys, stop kidding yourselves that these teams are going to go with the songs you're suggesting in this thread. We already know what happened with the '80s decade.

Just start here and pick the biggest names & groups - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1990s_in_music

And I'm going to make one very bold prediction... ChoBat pull from Snoop Dogg's music catalogue because everyone in America knows NBC will be bringing Snoop back for the Winter Olympics. I might even go so far as to guess that Snoop is consulted by them & works with Hugo Chouinard on their music edit.

I would love love love love if anyone chose songs from Ricky Martin's Vuelve album.

Once again you are making music suggestions that I know nothing about, I look them up and listen to them and even fall in love with the suggestios, and then the skaters/coaches/choreographers are going to dash my hopes and pick five over-used pieces of music...

ETA: Although the Wikipedia article mentions Garbage, and if someone would just do an RD to "I'm Only Happy When It Rains," I would be ever-so-grateful.

Lola/Cizeron should do “Special” by Garbage. Very meta (not that they would).

I would love Garbage, Weezer, The Cranberries, The Cure, anything alternative. There are definitely danceable songs from this genre.

actually weezer has made a comeback with the teen set in the past few years lol my son even went to their concert last year so that would win over him at least haha

We went to Green Day this summer and it was filled with teens. They thought it was so cool we had our OG American Idiot concert t-shirts.

Buddy Holly could be good for Green/Parsons.

For Gen X it’s been a teenhood, childhood and now young adulthood consecutively.
In that case, we need a "future" RD that's about GenX's declining years. The skaters will required to find clairvoyant composers and songwriters who will be able to accurately predict what kinds of music will be popular circa 2035-2049.

I think we are 100% guaranteed to have at least a couple of teams skating to songs that they have no idea what they are actually about.
And they will probably be sibling teams and/or juniors.

Have the ISU said anything about a bpm requirement beyond “high energy”?

With Euros in Sheffield, I’ve been wondering if anyone might try a Pulp (or other Britpop) RD. And I’d probably enjoy more chart crossover dance programmes, in the vein of Reed/Ambrulevicius’ Insomnia FD. Robert Miles was Italian!

Also Republica’s Drop Dead Gorgeous. (I have a team in mind for this one.)

Still hate this theme though.
