Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir # 47: Come What May...

Very interesting on one of the vids watching Charlie White break down the Rumbas of V/M and B/S (with super slow mo) in the team event. He doesn't appear to detect an error for V/M -- or am I wrong?
Thanks so much for the link, carpis :) All v/m's goodies are here!
So what or where was the level 2 rhumba pattern score to? Or is there a different part than the Choctaw section???

So why the level 2 rhumba :wall: I wish these tech panels have to explain the levels they assign.

I noticed the link of Charlie explaining choctaws was posted here it is https://drive.google.com/file/d/1E6gQzZaBBWOl7LdVmhUWZEA_mxn0PTUA/view

Maybe they can't explain, ;) IMHO, judging will probably be similar to the pairs: the judges were really tough on Ajiona & partner & generous with S/H (who I also love) in the short, but they couldn't deny them the win with their clean, sensational FS.

Ok the judges are so full of shit. Just saying.

Welp there you have it..Charlie didn't see any issue I don't believe...so THEY ARE CHEATING!!!

I really think the only way you should be able to be a judge in ice dance from now on is if you are a former ice dancer imo..

Where do these judges get the NERVE to say V&M skating skills are a level 2?
Are they totally ****ed!!
That is a complete joke, these old shits get to say..hey Scott & Tessa, good but not that good..GTFO!

I would love it if the judges could explain and educate us. I think that would really be great but nope they aren’t allowed.

So am I watching the SD tonight or tomorrow? I have so far screwed up my watching for almost every event!

I was in transit when the links were first posted and by the time I landed, got the same message as everyone else when trying to access them, so thanks so much for this link!

Also, I was happy to see so many posts from V/M fans when I opened up the thread. Strangely, they help me keep calm while waiting for the SD, even when they are ones that express anxiety. I suppose there is comfort in knowing that I'm not alone. Part of me wishes the SD was already here, yet the other wishes it is far away, knowing that it would be their last competitive SD.

Like so many of you, so glad they went back to the original rotational lift for the FD but kept the new position of the curve lift. I do think this combination best fit the music, story line and the raw feeling they are going for.

I saw 5:50 on the clock during the FD practice. Was this 5:50 am?

Does anyone know whether these are the last practices before tomorrow's SD? Just curious to see if there is another SD dress in the wings.

That was only one example as they had to skate it twice right.

Gosh- I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but going by Canada's TSN Twitter feed/likes, they are not one bit happy with Didier Gailhaguet.

I've decided that I'm just going to enjoy their last skates for what they are. Not much to do about the rest of it. I've seen some of their practices from today and they look sharp and more importantly, happy.

If anyone hasn't seen their FD practice everyone was trying to download yesterday, some kind person has uploaded it here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6exbfh

There is an exquisite new spread eagle transition from Scott into the spins just before the 19 minute mark. I can't stop watching it. Stunning skating.

Do you have a link to the TSN twitter I couldn’t find it.

It's @SkateTSN. Check out their likes and their reply to the @rockerskating tweet about the banned Golden Spin judge.

Also- having watched the SD run throughs from today, if they skate their pattern like they did in practice, they should 100% get Level 4. Nothing wrong with Tessa's Choctaw there. The vantage point is set above the rink too, so you can see just how good their pattern is. They skate more closely than anyone, they're so in sync, and it's also the biggest pattern of them all. Not even P/C get as deep or cover as much ice. I'm glad they're as experienced as they are, because Scott came mighty close to hitting the boards they travelled so far.

ETA: Patch was filming all their elements, they're clearly going over every detail with a fine tooth comb.

I honestly still can’t find it.

I'm glad a Canadian outlet is talking about it. After the last interview in which Didier brought the "gift for judges" story up again, I was so mad. He is such an awful man.

I just watched TSL's interview with Meagan Duhamel and it is very interesting. She is also talking a little bit about the judging in figure skating. Great stuff. Now I wish, Tessa and Scott would do another one with TSL. Meagan's is over two hours long! Imagine a Tessa and Scott one with that length. And now with their career being over. They could be really honest.

The sheer nerve of him to say that the Canadians aren't playing fair, that he has an ethical code and would never stoop so low, but that's it's good for them when other federations are giving gifts to judges (that's really not what happened). He's horrid. And he wanted to be ISU president! I'm trying not to let it impact my feelings on Papadakis/Cizeron because I enjoy their skating on the whole and it's not their fault they're stuck with such an awful federation president, but he doesn't half make it difficult sometimes.

I will accept nothing less than a full TSL exposé on the Canton dynamic and what really went down in Sochi :p

Exactly. I don't understand his actions at all. I would be so embarrassed if someone caught me cheating and would try to stay under the radar. But not him. That interview was horrible.

Me, too!! They either have to write a book about it or do a really, really long interview :D.

I don't get this, what does this mean?

What a hypocrite!!

I have so much anxiety about tonight, but can we take a minute to appreciate their edges and synchronicity in these practice pics http://mysticseasons.tumblr.com/post/171009064784/goldsk8-tessavirtue-scottmoir-practice-their. Sometimes I feel like skating doesn’t deserve them, they are the best undoubtedly. I’m happy their fellow peers and coaches do know their invaluable worth though. And finally, whatever happens tonight and tomorrow it’s been a pleasure Tessa and Scott I’m so proud to be your fan. I wish them all the best and success in whatever path they choose next. Anyway, love them and love you guys and with that I’m logging off for quite possibly…forever lol :40beers:
