Vladimir confirmed that they will compete in the Warsaw cup and in the GPF at Osaka. They are in good health.

In another interview Vladimir said (paraphrasing) they are happy with the silver. They made many mistakes (at NHK) but theywill train hard and compete in these competitions as planned.

Anyone know the diff between ropes and rents? ?

I was totally confused by those words. Very funny. I looked up the Russian text but I am not familiar with those words. I will need to look them up in the dictionary.

ETA- if I am doing this right (after looking up my dictionary)-

He says they have to skate clean, to get good results.

The word for 'rope' in the translation actually led to Rolling, or their basic skating. That didn't make much sense to me because I didn't think there was anything wrong with their basic skating.

The 'Rent' is more confusing because the Russian word led me to Arrive and Come.

I am guessing he means they have to come back and skate clean In order to get good results.

Elena Bechke said that during the Olympic season Moskvina made them do many small competitions, as many as they could. The goal was to make it feel like nothing special, nothing to be nervous about. Elena also changed her mindset from "OMG, I will make a mistake, and we will lose!" to "I will NOT make a mistake, I will show them that we can beat them." It worked out well for them getting the silver.

Got up at 2am to watch Warsaw cup pairs. T/M did ok. One small flaw on the throw and a struggle on the sbs 3t by Zhenya, but she landed both. Got 79.46 - not bad. Not their best performance of this SP but I will take it.

Russian pairs are 1-2-3 right now.

I was happy with the skate given how jetlagged they must be right now.

They don’t skate the FS until just after midnight Warsaw tins. I hope they’re able to get a good nap.

Warsaw is not that far from Moscow- just one hour time difference. I did that trip years ago. I can't imagine them jet lagged. I assume you are referring to them returning from Japan?

A respectable SP skate nevertheless. I think this is the best SP when all skaters are considered this season. I hope I didn't jinx them.

When I traveled in the past, I’d usually get back from my trips at 11 or midnight here, but it would feel like 1 or 2 am because I’d adjusted to my parents time zone while there.

Even if they hadn’t been to Japan, even two hours difference at that time of day can be brutal. I live two time zones away from my parents. When I traveled in the past, I’d usually get back from my trips at 11 or midnight here, but it would feel like 1 or 2 am because I’d adjusted to my parents time zone while there.

The rule of thumb is one day per 1 hour difference. So when I travel to Asia, it takes me a couple weeks to recover. Oddly I have not had jet lag to/from Europe.

Even going to CA means 1-2 hour difference and at least one day of jet lag for me. However, I think skaters are used to frequent interNational travel and perhaps less susceptible to severe jet lag. Japan to Russia, I am estimating 6 plus/minus one hour, so 5-7 days to recover for people like us.

In any case it was not a bad skate at all. We will see how they do in the LP. The more practice they get the better.

They just had a really solid FS at Warsaw. Evgenia was clean on all of her jumps, Vladimir had a hand down on the 3S and their timing on the 3T2T2T wasn't great (but they got it done). If they can skate this well at 01:00 am they should also do it when it matters.

Same, I was struggling to watch the finale group after what happened to L/O, if I was that shaken by it I can't imagine how the audience and the skaters felt. I just hope they will be ok, both were sent to the hospital from what I read.

I must have missed something. I thought I would be watching the free skate tonight because I watched the SP last night (technically this morning 2 am)

ETA- just watched both on youtube. They got 148 for the LP, and total 228.

Angelika will be 5 in February, so technically long out of the toddler stage and a preschooler. She seems to be a very active child with a lot of energy though.
