Tarasova/Morozov Cheer Thread

You may need to follow them on Instagram.

First two stories are not available anymore. Luckily I saw them earlier. The third is still available but can’t say for how long.

I am curious about their rediscovery of social media, but I am enjoying the training clips.

This expires in 12 hours: one foot step sequence with a twizzle at the end.

It says unavailable.

T&M skated to an iconic piece of music ‘Bolero’ And it worked great for them. What other iconic pieces of music could They skate to?

I am thinking Vocalise. They have the technical skills for it. Will that invite comparisons with G&G and work against them?

May be Tosca? It has vocals and they seem to like vocals.

I feel like I saw a quote from Evgenia sometime in the last couple of years about things she didn’t want to skate to and Tosca was specifically mentioned.

Vocalise is so iconically G/G that I think it would invite some unwanted comparisons.

I still keep coming back to Mahler for them.

Just watched the Russia cup Team competition. I thought they were cautious in the beginning, but after Zhenya landed the first throw they picked up speed and skated more freely. I was happy that they received the top marks even with a couple of small mistakes. It seems their judges believe they are the best, unless they make a major mistake. Actually at the nationals they made a major mistake and still won. This should give them more confidence.

T/M were a one bright spot for me this weekend. Not perfect, but I think being able to win when not perfect is a good confidence booster for them. Last year they had the injury, but I think a lot of their problems earlier in the quad were from them putting too much pressure on themselves to have to be perfect--that can often be detrimental.

I still think Bolero is on track to be the definitive skate of it at worlds. The FS, I think, was maybe a little bit of nerves but also not as well trained as the short. That makes sense--they had the short last year and they have lost a lot of training time due to YNW. They still have one more outing and time before worlds though to get it polished.

I'm just glad they have their mojo back.

And I do think the message now is if T/M are fairly clean, the fed will go with them on the other strengths of their skating that the younger teams just cannot match them.

It was really nice how the audience was reacting to everything they did, even the choreographic elements. It actually reminded me a lot of Sochi. The program really builds and it's improved every outing this season. They basically just won this year's Euros, IMO. It's great they can have these experiences despite everything internationally being cancelled so far. Hoping they can get to Worlds and stay healthy.

They look very confident skating to Bolero. They got a lot of mileage on it. That is why I feel they should keep AlbinoneLP next year. They will need a new SP. It is too hard to create two new programs, and become comfortable with them, especially if the number of competitions is reduced.

Makes sense. Step/Buks also are not going to Russia Cup Final. I'll be curious to see about Kolyada and Anna S. If your place is assured, it doesn't seem as necessary, but the coaches have mentioned a lot in interviews that skaters like to have goals to work toward, so it may serve that purpose for them (or not). Not to take this off topic though! :)

I think it’s a very smart move. They won nationals and had the top score for pairs at the Channel One Cup. They’ve beaten all of the other top pairs at least twice now. Competing internationally and getting feedback before worlds will be more helpful at this point.

Trankov talks about their competition plans. T/M will not do the Russia Cup Final and will go to the international competition in the Netherlands instead. They would like to get scores/feedback from an international panel before Worlds.
Good strategy. They know that the Russian judges respect them. It will be good to get feedback from a different set of judges. Another thing - they will not be skating in front their home crowd. They need the experience of skating before a different crowd, different culture.

Looks like we won’t get to see T&M until Saturday. I hope they will have the kind of skate that will raise their reputation in the minds of the international judges.

Disappointing free skate at the Challenge cup in Hague. They won but looked very disappointEd with the two major errors. Hopefully they can regroup and continue to become more consistent.

I still believe it was a valuable experience for them to skate in a foreign land, in front of International judges, and without any spectators. Skaters usually get more energy when they hear the audience appreciate them.

It must also feel good to be at the top of the podium. So I say Congratulations again!

P.S. I see this is my fourth post in a row in This thread. Sorry.

I found this. Looks like a long program skated to S.O.S. I had not seen this. No idea which competition. The date on yt is January 2019.

was it Rostelecom? I saw Moscow Cup on the ice

Should they use this for the Olympics?
They did a throw 3 flip in this. I was wondering why they are still doing the 3S for one of their throws? The 3R is ok.

Now I saw 'Montage' written under it. So may be they did notvskatevthe LP to S.O.S.?
