I still absolutely despise start orders, it’s basically just what they want the results to be starting with the last skater to the first skater. So don’t hold the competition.

I missed the excitement of the random draw.

Can’t stand the hideous boredom of your not worthy go first, and the best can go last lol for lack of a better phrase, but that’s what they mean.

Nope, they just missed out - 6th at the Ice Dance Final in November.

I know that the Senior Pairs field is small, but does the Senior Women's Free Skate really start fifty minutes after the start of Senior Pairs? That doesn't seem to leave any time for ice resurfacing, warmups, or scoring.

But maybe it's all predetermined, so it doesn't really matter.

I know that the Senior Pairs field is small, but does the Senior Women's Free Skate really start fifty minutes after the start of Senior Pairs? That doesn't seem to leave any time for ice resurfacing, warmups, or scoring.

But maybe it's all predetermined, so it doesn't really matter.

Remember the USFS does the split for TV. Group 1 for both the Pairs and Women will skate back-to-back this afternoon and then this evening Groups 2-3 for both Pairs & Women will compete.

I was hoping the USFS had moved to "gong show" scoring. Pairs is definitely where I'd implement that first.

Yeah, there are a lot of reasons why splitting the events sucks, but it is not that uncommon for a top skater/team to have a bad SP and end up in that first group and it must just be so demoralizing. Having to skate in the first group shouldn't affect a skater's performance but I imagine it can when they get relegated to this early session with lower attendance and energy that's not even airing on live TV. Of course good skaters should be able to overcome that, but it's just not necessary to throw that factor in the mix.
