The SOI holiday show this year is in Reading instead of the usual Lake Placid -
We’re pleased to announce a Special #StarsOnIce Holiday Performance - at @santander_arena in Reading, PA on December 28th!
Celebrate the Season with @meryledavis & @charlieawhite, #KurtBrowning, @mirainagasu, @bradietennell, @idreamofjeremy, @namnamnoodle, #RyanBradley, @pipergilles & @pauldpoirier and @kait_hawayek & @jeanlucbaker! You can take advantage of the chance to buy great seats, including on-ice seats, during an online-only presale beginning on 10/30 at 10am with the password GOTOASHOW!

Ooo, Gilles/Poirier and Nam are welcome additions to the regulars! I would love to see a more international/cross-border cast for the full run, too.

The Lake Placid date was announced today. It is December 30, 2019. It looks like the same group of skaters as the Reading, PA show.

i Wonder why they are not having Kaitlyn and Andrew.

Katilyn and Andrew are fully booked on December already.

December 14: Denis Ten Friends, Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana), Kazakhstan
(Note: It seems they will skip Christmas on Ice in Japan this year.)

December 22: Saturn Eisgala - Concert on Ice, Ingolstadt, Germany
December 28: Emotions on Ice, Chemnitz, Germany
December 29: charivari Eisgala - Concert on Ice, Regensburg, Germany
December 30: Eisgala Exquisit - Concert on Ice, Oberstdorf, Germany

Tyler Myles is the SOI choreographer standing next to Charlie & above Piper.

Alissa C is suddenly in the cast and H/B are missing. I really hope they are still in the shows, nothing has been said about them not being in the picture and why Alissa suddenly is.

Kurt Browning being his usual goofy self for this video :D:

I saw the show with friends and family last night in Reading and it really is exceptional. If you are anywhere near Lake Placid, try to get to the next show. Kurt has two solos, one a jazzy vintage Kurt type of number and the other set to Joni Mitchell’s River; either alone is worth the price of admission all by itself. Bonus—Alissa Czisny showcasing the kind of exquisite spins and spirals you just don’t see much of anymore, in a solo set to O Holy Night.

Also: Jeremy Abbott with his wonderful gift for musical interpretation; a show version of Bradie Tennell’s current SP; a show version of G/P’s Vincent; an encore of the 90s pop group number from the last tour.

I drove up to Reading from D.C. for the show. I haven't seen any live skating in 3 and a half years, and I'm still feeling thrilled. This was just wonderful skating and such a treat to be able to see it.

I'm a big fan of Gilles & Poirier so getting to see them live was special. They skated a version of their Vincent program in the first half, and a more showy number in the second. Piper is such a presence in every group number, she just shines.

It was a surprise to me to see Alissa Czisny and what a special one it was. Her skating is as gorgeous as ever and her beautiful smile still makes you feel like maybe this world isn't so bad after all. So glad she is still skating!

Kurt Browning is astonishing and just so fun! I enjoyed seeing Mirai her second half program was full of great spins and a fabulous spiral and she just beamed at her performance when she was done! Smile, Mirai! So fun.

Its a shame there aren't more show opportunities in the US. I sure would go!

This was a great show! I was thrilled to see Kurt. He’s still amazing! The rest of the cast is great too. It was nice to see the Canadians. We usually don’t get to see them in the US. It’s sad that the arena wasn’t filled. They aren’t doing much in the eastern US this year. Just Reading and Lake Placid.

Glad to read you enjoyed the Reading show, @Rhumba d’Amour @BlueRidge @heather-marie... thanks for sharing! :)

Meryl Davis spoke to a morning show in Vermont last week to help promote tonight's Lake Placid show (the young woman on the left fangirling Meryl was cute to see :D):

Mirai & Alissa filmed a short promo for Lake Placid SOI but the weather may end up affecting attendance based on the comment on this FB post :(:

ETA that Paul Wylie also helped to promote the Lake Placid show earlier this month by appearing on local news station morning shows like this one (video is linked from here): https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...r-orda-in-lake-placid-ny.106601/#post-5717541

2 Lake Placid SOI articles/reviews:

By Christie Sausa (the one I was waiting for):
Excerpt:
The crowd responded especially warmly to Browning though, who skated energetically to “Ding Dong Daddy” by the Cherry Poppin Daddies, and the plaintive Joni Mitchell “River” covered by Browning’s creative partner Geoffrey Tyler. ...
“Ding Dong Daddy is just about high-energy, dancing, fun and being really physical on the ice,” explained Browning. “And so I thought okay, that’s a challenge, let’s see if we can bring that baby back, I’ve had to do a few modifications to it to adapt to it.”
“River” was especially captivating, and included a segment in which Browning skated school figures, a discipline in which patterns are skated on the surface and which is rapidly becoming popular again.
“We accentuated the Christmas element just a little bit so that it could be used during the holiday season, it’s a beautiful song,” he said.
Nam Nguyen and Jeremy Abbott are also quoted.

This article quotes Browning, Nagasu and Tennell (and includes 7 action photos):
