Skating Twitter is all focused on Fedor

My twitter feed is all about Fedor tonight. Saying he was a terrible skater, that he is a predator, that his mom didn’t support him. Why all the a Fedor talk? It seeems to be coming from a bunch of posters. what woke the beasts?
 
Yes Andreeva. There were videos of a bunch of his performance. I just wondered what was up
 
Imagine a world of a thousand Keegans Red Hot Chilis and those judgejudys going around saying things like ihhsm (I hate him so much) for no reason, pulling stories out of nowhere, typically whenever it has to do with V/M or Hanyu.

That about summarizes skating Twitter. Ridiculous user names, activists for shutting down Worlds and all things mental health, but total wannabe-bullies probably with some Tumblr or whatever they use these days talking about how terrible their real lives are.

This shit is so crazy. I know I'll definitely not get into Tweeting regularly.. I can't deal with people acting like they are all 15 and throwing their fanfic dreams into real-world scenarios, 'ganging up' on everyone who stands in their way.
 
It was always a little weird that he dated Tanith, Tessa, and Meryl who were all his mom's students and he generally was with the one who was favored at the time. I remember him and Tessa becoming known as an item around the time that V&M beat B&A at Worlds for the first time. And to think he married Meryl and Tanith married Charlie, crazy.

I never thought about the ages. I guess with that comment about Tessa being 17 they are saying that he's a predator because some or all of them were minors. Looked at wiki and he's 8 years older than Tessa. In light of all the Safe Sport stuff these last couple of years I can understand why people would look at his age and his position as the coach's son. My generation would call it sleazy while the younger generation probably considers it abusive. I certainly hope none of the girls felt coerced in any way and whatever happened was consensual. What's odd is how 15 plus years later twitter digs this up when everyone has seemingly moved on.

Sorry if that was too serious for this thread. :lol:

He is two years older than Tanith, five years older than Meryl (and both were most definitely adults when they started dating, so not really an issue) and seven years older than Tessa - am rounding a bit as all were born in different months. Dating a bunch of your mother's students is a bit shady, but some of this is years in the past, he's not involved in skating these days and I've no doubt there's worse stuff going on right now, so color me confused as well as to why this is coming up. Is skating Twitter already tired of conspiracy theories about Worlds?
 
Thanks Guys. glad you thought it was weird too. And it was started on a March 30 so not an April fools joke.

This sort of trolling is ugly and cowardly and dangerous. Maybe he did something wrong or maybe someone wants to take him down in the ugliest way possible. And who knows their motivation? Take it to the police if there is a crime.
 
I just think a lot of these people have no lives and live through Tessa/Scott and feel as though they still need to avenge past "wrongs" even though the actual parties may have moved on or don't care or don't see themselves in the same way their fans do. Of course, if Tessa ever came out to say she didn't feel like she was coerced or abused, she'd have a dozen or so responses directly to her about how wrong she is and how she's a victim.

A few years ago, I stupidly engaged with one of them on Twitter and I realized how unhinged some of them were. They started calling me a Boomer and a Beatles listener and then said I was so 2000-late or whatever. I just responded, "And I'm the boomer when you're the one spouting off lame-ass tired song lyrics from the last decade?" and bounced.

Yes, you are a well-known Boomer, and listening to the Beatles is the worst :rolleyes:

I think that a lot of younger (and even older) online fans came to skating via V/M in 2018, Hanyu, and/or Yuri on Ice, and some seem unaware that the skating existed before they learned about it.
