Say, I caught the end of Skate America (Pairs) yesterday and it turned out that because of ****19 the skaters wearing masks in the Kiss and Cry. But were able to go without them while skating. Which really amazes me as from what I've heard, we're not supposed to hold hands. Did anyone else see it?

The pairs and ice dance teams competing at Skate America have been training together at their rinks for quite a while now so they are allowed to hold hands/do lifts/etc. while competing.

LOL. ok...I'm a little confused about skating together for a long time vs. being protected from *19. I would think it would matter,as even they could get * if not careful like anyone else.

I'm not understanding about a bubble. But then again I'm not a Scientist. The skaters weren't in anything. Btw. how was Skate America able to be held, when every other competition was canceled?

"Bubble" means the skaters, coaches, officials/judges, TV crews, media on site, etc. are all staying in a closed space (hotel and arena next door) and are not allowed to leave this space until after the competition is over.

Skaters, coaches, crews, etc. don't leave until a competition is over anyway, right? Also, can't they get *****19 by just touching each other? An Ice-Dance Team or Pair vs. a Freestyler?
