Sewing men's skating pants - fabric suggestions?

I'm going to attempt to make a pair of men's black skating pants using Jalie pattern 2803. I know I want 4-way stretch matte black fabric, but am not sure what to search for if I want to order on line. Ponte? Just a heavyweight lycra? I'd love suggestions from someone who has done this, both for the fabric and any tips about using this particular pattern.

Heavyweight Lycra—anything over 300gsm, really—will be just fine.

Here are a couple of options, from lightest to heaviest—I'd recommend grabbing swatches to determine what will feel the best:

Spandex:

Cotton Lycra:

Ponte:

I highly recommend Spandex World; great service, excellent quality.

Thank you! Yes, I know of Spandex World, but wasn't sure where to start. As it happens, heavy weight ponte is on sale at my local JoAnn's, so I think I'll start with that since this is an experimental pair to get the pattern adjustments figured out. I can order from Spandex World after that.
