A friend's daughter is an in-house counsel for a very large business with many government contracts. For a while she was responsible for signing off on exports to ensure conformance with various export restrictions, and apparently the amount of stuff that was proposed to ship to weird places (like apartments) in Russia or to known transhipment locales was huge.
