Rush Drummer/lyricist Neil Peart, R.I.P. at 67

Ah, another part of my youth gone, as I saw them in concert 6 times, three of those with my brothers. Peart was exhalted at a top-notch drummer, also quite noted as a lyricist, also an author with 7 books to his name. To quote his lyrics from 'Afterimage': "Suddenly you were gone/ From all the lives you left your mark upon"

Wow, he was a real giant in terms of talent and vision. It wasn't good enough to him that he was rock's greatest drummer-- he went and learned more/better technique from a Jazz legend to further improve well after Rush had their biggest hits. Unbelievable. He would have landed 10 quads in a long program, had he been a figure skater.

You haven't lived until you watch a sea of Rush fans air drum along to Tom Sawyer at a concert. RIP, "New Guy."

Rush is one of the great progressive rock bands of my lifetime, and Neil was absolutely one of the most talented drummers ever. So very sad we have lost him too soon.

Yes, Selena Taylor died in a car accident, it was her mother Jackie who died 10 months later of cancer.
