Angela Shao - really nice 3t+3t to open! Good 2a; 3lo had a wonky, short edge landing & is definitely getting reviewed. Not too shabby overall.

ETA - oh, dear, she's a Tammy Gambill skater. Best not to get too attached to Angela.

Kovar/McPike - Orange Coloured Sky. She has a very sparkly dress. Slow and cautious in the pairs elements but nicely done. Could use a bit more expression.

Meeks - Bublé - Wow, they’re sibs and a mirror team, very cool entrance into the SBS jumps. Skating much closer together than K/M and bringing the perk. She falls in the step sequence.

Wood/Lapsky - Mambo #5. They love cheese! - Crashy 3 twist. 2ax looking much better than last season. Lift a little less scary but still scratchy. Only double throw. Alex screws up the spin and it’s an invalid element but at least he doesn’t just stand there. Lots of energy and more in between choreography than the other teams here.

Ritchie/McLeod - I Put A Spell On You - She’s looking more comfortable than last year, but they don’t have the base value. Pretty cleanly done except for death spiral that was lucky to be called valid. Lv4 steps helped their score. I think individually he’s the strongest pairs guy in this field but unfortunately I still don’t really see this partnership going far.

Thanks, @Belsornia - I'll have to go back and rewatch if I can - I fell asleep after the 2nd group of women in Riga, lol.

Junior Pairs FS:

Meeks - WHY are these SIBLINGS skating to Romeo and Juliet? - Don’t have the difficulty yet, but everything nicely done. Lifts look very secure for such a young team.

Wood/Lapsky - Addams Family - Cleaner than yesterday; I think finally having some slower music helped them deliver the elements. They’ve added throw 3 loop - both throws looking good. Nice height on the twist but crashy. Still having issues with lift levels. They do the Mrazeks’ ugly stationary lift as part of their choreo sequence, then another dance lift as the first half of their spin.

Ritchie/McLeod - Hit the Road Jack cover - Similar to yesterday, first half smoothly executed but the technical level isn’t there.

Kovar/McPike - Rocketman? Elton John cover anyway and they’re just skating through it - Nice group 5 lift, second lift is scary but it gets called Lv4. Fitting right in at IceSheff with an effortful 1ax sequence. He looks much better skating with a partner with a similar skill level.
