Practice news & notes, photos, etc. - Milan 2026

Niina Petrokina Jia Shin and Livia Kaiser practicing now.

I wonder about the ice quality on that temporary rink. On other temporary rinks I have seen, condensation forms on the overhead beams and makes bumps on the ice.

Peacock's Training stream for Sunday, Feb. 15 began at 10:20 am ET and is scheduled to run for 3h 40m. Women's Group 3 (Samodelkina did a FS run through without jumps, Kurakova, Hendrickx FS, Pinzaronne FS, Gutmann FS) is on the ice.

Pairs Short Warm-Up is scheduled for 1 hour starting at 11:20 am ET.

Amber landed a good 3A to open her FS run through (ETA: 3F+3T, 3Lz opened up early/step, skipped Lo+A+A, 3F into spin, 3Lo). Landed 3Lz+2T, 3S & another 3S fine afterwards. Also 3Lo+2A+2A twice, 3Lo to big falling leaf jump, 3S.

Pairs SP run throughs in the main arena: HUN, G/A ITA, Ellie/Danny (3Tw, landed sbs 3S... footwork, lift, BIDS), Deanna/Max (skipped twist, ad interruption, throw 3Lo landed a bit forward on toe, sbs spins good unison, choreo steps with backflip taken out).

It's rather shocking that the pairs warm-up training isn't focused solely on KamO since focusing solely on the US skaters/teams in any warm-up group has been NBC's MO this first week of the Olympics, lol. Maybe someone finally got in the ear of their producers and told them to focus on all the skaters/teams.

Jackie Wong made an appearance on Peacock's Gold Zone at 12:30pm ET to preview the Pairs! (can rewind the Day 9 livestream) - that's why he couldn't type notes during the final group in the Pairs warmup. His archived practice notes: https://www.rockerskating.com/news/2026/2/1/2026-winter-olympics-practice-notes

ETA - in the practice rink (same time as the final group of Pairs warm-up): Women group 5 (music order is Kaiser, Repond, Schizas, Petrokina, Lee, Shin).

Rewound the training stream to Group 2 (19:20-20:00 last group of day) - Kaori was the first to do a run through of her SP - interruption for ads, came back to her 2A, 3F+3T.
Heard Mone Chiba’s SP music played but camera didn’t not show her (cut to warmup area). She had warmed up 3F & 1F+3T beforehand.
Ami Nakai’s FS run through: 3A opened up/underrot. & step out, 3Lo+2T, 3Lz+2T, 3S, stopped briefly, choreo. sequence, 3Lz+2A+2A [music stopped briefly, Ami looked confused then smiled as her music resumed] 3F, 3Lo, steps, final 2 spins.
ETA: There was a funny moment afterwards as Kaori came up to her and they exchanged a good laugh together (ETA link to my clip): https://x.com/SylviaUnseen/status/2023431987030012138
ETA2: I assume Kaori was the one who encouraged Ami to skate the end of her FS again due to the music playing errors, so the final minute or so of Ami’s music was played again for her - she resumed with her 3Lo, did her entire footwork seq., and final 2 spins.

Final 10 mins. was all AmiCam: 3Lz+3T, 1A landed on both feet, 3A nice, and then another 3A (she studied video by the boards), 1Lz, 3Lz+3T.

Peacock added a training tile for Monday, Feb. 16 that began streaming at 8 am ET (starting with SP group 1 with Petrosian) and it's scheduled to last for 4 hrs. 50 mins.

His notes for Petrosian: "3F, 3Lz, 3Lz3T, 3S, 4T(ur,hangs on), 4T(ur,fall), runthru (2T, 4T, 2S, 3Lo, 3Lz2A2A, 3Lz3T, 3F2Lo), 4T(q), 4T(q,fall), 2T, 4T(ur,fall), 4T(q)3T, 3S"

Updated colored schedule for this week: https://results.isu.org/schedules/OWG2026_ColouredTimeSchedule.pdf

ETA that I was able to rewind the stream earlier to watch SP group 1 but now it only goes as far back as Sauter's RT in SP group 2: https://results.isu.org/results/season2526/owg2026/SEG003.htm

Watched Ami Nakai's clean SP RT: 3A, 3Lz+3T, 3Lo.

Just noticed Peacock is showing Ilia practicing for the Gala on the Women's SP Warm-Up livestream.

ETA: He's having trouble with a variation on Kevin Aymoz's trademark move. ;)

Litvintsev appeared to also be on the ice. Not sure how it works but it appears they let anyone still train if they are around, not just those in the Gala. Although I would like to see The Joker in the Gala since we didn’t get to see it.

I figured they schedule ice time for all of them for as long as they're in the O village. But seeing Max is still there just made me wonder...

The colored time schedule says it's additional practice time available to all skaters in every discipline through Friday. There are specific times set aside for the Gala skaters to practice on Thursday & Friday.

Peacock is showing Women's FS training in the main arena - AmberCam is on (camera is back to focusing on USA skaters only, grrr).

It feels weird to watch. Like at least make a half-assed effort to look at anyone else for a few seconds.

Sumitada Moriguchi just landed 3S+1Eu+3S+3T in the practice rink! Peacock is continuing to livestream during the Women's FS (alternating between the warmup area & practice rink).

Kam/O'Shea and Vaipan-Law/Digby are practicing now.

ETA: For Worlds, I assume.

ETA2: Now Ellie and Anastasia are enjoying taking fun photos on the ice.
