Minor correction - the reason the Pairs event is not consider a Challenger event is because the ISU did not designate it as a Challenger event this season when it approved the Challenger Series events last spring. Only 5 of the Challengers have a Pairs event in any given season. This season those were designated as CS John Nicks IPC, CS Kinoshita Group Cup, CS Nebelhorn Trophy, CS Trialeti Trophy and CS Golden Spin. Lombardia held a pairs event in conjunction with the Challenger event for the other three disciplines.

There was a larger field of pairs entered when the entries were announced a few weeks ago, but many teams are injured or decided they didn't want to compete here after all - I know GoluGM and WilLew were both entered and wound up withdrawing. At the time when the initial entries were announced, the field was large enough that WS points would have been acquired. Sadly, that is no longer the case.

Now that we're into the CTES watch phase of the season -

Ichilov/Nosovitskiy got their Worlds minimums here.

The panel seemed fairly kind so I was a bit surprised that the only other minimums achieve was Flores/Jepsen for 4CCs, but a lot of the lower ranked teams in Warsaw were also at the Denkova-Staviyski Cup a couple of weeks ago which appeared to be generously scored (but no stream there, so IDK maybe everyone just skated fabulously).
