I fear I would even like the oldest warhorses... :gallopin1:gallopin1:gallopin1 They´re THAT good :) I also don´t like the music of Ed Sheeran but don´t ask me how often I watched their SD this season and will watch it again ;) So whatever they decide to skate to, I´m willing to accept and I´ll love it because their skating is so sublime I would watch them skate to everything. Some blues or jazz would be hard but I´m sure their skating would still be the best :D
 
Please do not give us jazz hands next season. Please for the love of Gawd!!

I like blingy Gabby. Looks good IMHO. So much emphasis on Guillaume's porniness, nice to bring attention to how pretty she is.

People have been insulting her in the replies on her Twitter and Instagram for over a year now. She seems pretty tough. And not fake. She's one of the few skaters who addressed TSL publicly when she had a problem with Dave. I think after this nightmare experience at the Olympics, a few sad souls on social media are child's play to her.

And it's probably never going to stop, especially if they dominate in the next quad.

:angryfire I'm tempted to show her that but scared at the same time of a possible outcome... And I really want Gabbi and Guillaume to focus on their last competition and regaining that title and not to be bothered by these 'fans'.

I remember her instagram post a year ago about people insulting skaters on Social media and YouTube videos. And vice-versa : when people got angry at Worlds 2017 after the Dance results, she deliberatly posted a picture to congratulte her training mates and said in a interview later that it was better to calm the game and show her own opinion on this take. They were not interested in debating this any further.

Imagine training non-stop for some random moron to insult you on the internet, just because. Some of them are supposed to be adults and are charging a 22 year-old young woman. If skaters feels uncomfortable, they should expose posters more often.

Really ? When ? I missed it. I really think that TSL get too much love from skaters usually considering the bashing they do.

She actually got insulted for a post about being a decent human being on social media. Amazing.

This is why I just block/ignore people instead of trying to debate with them as some of you do. Expecting fairness and decency from an anonymous screen name on the internet that's determined to be the opposite is going to end in disappointment sooner rather than later. And believe me, once you block/ignore someone, it's pretty easy to forget they even exist. Use whatever tools you have to make your fan experience enjoyable.

Before this season after an interview with inside skating. She said that she didn't want Latin SD to look cheap or cliché when done on the ice. Naturally some people thought (or took the opportunity) that she said Latin was cliché, and all the fuss that goes around. And TSL being TSL, they took some sort of fake article (without either checking it or just to add more unecessary drama) quoting Gabriella without the whole context, making her look like she said Latin was cheap. :rolleyes:

That's also why some people have been going around using the "bad SDs" argument, saying that they can't have a good SD score and that they don't know how to dance Latin and do compulsories. Yeah sure, that's why they have the highest Pattern scores of all teams, including the maximum one (GPF, 6.80 points) and the only team receiving level 4 all year long. Do you think it is why TSL (David) has been much less enthiousast about them than before and has started to critise them and heavily imply that their success was all Didier's doing. Because it seems this year he has only that (Didier's manoeuvering behind the scene) and questionnable judging against the eternal victims (the Canadians) to say about them ?
Or is it just that the canadians fan base being so huge it is just a matter of sucking it up to the money source ?

On a another note, Kudos to Gabriella. She is a tough cookie and a very decent human being. The direct attacks on her instagram account (and also the harassment of the French judge) are just confirming what we P/C fans were saying about V/M fans and the difference in treatment and reaction of both teams. Did Guillaume get harassed too ?

To be fair the question "who has the worst fans on social media" may never be solved, unless someone makes an in depth sentiment analysis over millions of comments on YT, twitter instagram and Fb. It's not that many haters, but boy are they vocal ! They see themselves as a crowd, but really they're not.

The French twitter feed is disappointing as well tbh, for different reasons. I was worried Gabriella would leave twitter after the Olympics, with all those nipples pictures. I don't know how she takes all these Delacroix jokes after it was announced she was the flag bearer (I do find it kinda funny, but annoying that it's the thing people will remember from the Olys).

Regarding your second point I think it's mainly Gabriella who gets the hate. Why ? I mainly see that as internalized sexism, because it's mostly women trashing a woman. They don't do that to Guillaume. Their excuse is that Guillaume is the prodigy and Gabriella is a pre-novice level skater, but we know that's not it. They both equally shine. Apparently Meryl Davis got the same hate in the good old days ?

I think people on forums quite reasonable (except on fan threads but it's normal), so I don't mind debating with people expressing their opinions there. I think most of the time people (including myself) express their written opinions more aggressively than what they're really feeling. So I think quite often by debating you find that people are not that black and white. For the most extreme persons I contradict them either to take up on their offer to start a fight because sometimes it's nice (but wrong), or because I do not want their hate to go unchallenged as facts. In that case I couldn't care less about changing their opinion, I'm interested in the opinion of the other post viewers.

That is very sad to see so much (self)hate from so many sick women. I don't see how another woman can think, write or say so many ugly things against another woman especially someone as nice and decent as Gabriella or Meryl just because they are Tessa's opponents.

I can't say anything about the francophone forums and social media because I only go to anglophone ones and on those I've been going to there is no question about who's worst.

Also I don't know to what extent that bashing campaign against P/C in general and Gabriella in particular is not orchestrated like it apparently was against D/W. For me it is a form of cheating because it is a very negative form of lobbying against another team. It is very unhealthy. It spreads suspicion and a very noxious atmosphere.

Why aren't the Canadians, if they are in majority in the V/M fan base, not called on that huge lack of decency and sportsmanship especially since they are quite vocal about their supposed fairness and respectful attitude in the sport contrary to their opponents "du jour" ? I just watched TSL's interview with Megan Duhamel who is a nice lady but very Canadian. IMO there is way too much uncalled for self rightousness on the canadian side.

Honestly I can't wait for those V/M zealots to be gone. It is really spoiling ice dance enjoyment.

Nope, he said one day that all factors taking into account that the French would have the advantage this year. Then on the next video (IIRC), he said that the fans went insane after he said that. Then on a couple of other video following this (then I stopped wtaching because he was too much with a couple of skaters including some that I really like and apparently skating is just drama for him), he pointed out things that were unexistent technically speaking about Gaby&Guillaume, or saying that Didier was doing the work for them. I really didn't understand what that was about but after seeing twitter, I do. But I think he likes drama way too much, and he might as well create it. You should see the way he speaks about the Shibsibs, it's incredibely disrespectful, especially considering they are very nice and drama-free people. Or when he wrote nasty things about Maddie and Zach and Olivia Smart called him out. Or saying how Maddie and Evan would break-up because of their results. All of it together just made me stop watching it for good.

Seriously that was the joke of the year. Before I went to the forums, I never saw anything like that. But apparently, Meryl is weak skater, yes. And has issues catching up to Charlie. What was that ? Never felt like it ever, when I was watching I saw one very strong team and 2 very strong individual - plus I always found her very refined on the ice, she was quality. But same old, same old.
 
@Viscaro I think one of the reasons why the haters don’t target Guillaume is his quite limited presence in social media. He doesn’t really engage with fans in social media, so it is unlikely that he would be provoked by the haters. They don’t get the reaction they desperately want.
 
But the narrative of Gaby is just mediocre whereas Guillaume is excellent has always been strong. Even haters don't seem to be able to find fault with his SS. I think the best way here is to show our support by showering her with positive messages about how wonderful their skating is. Let's drown those stupid comments. I had zero interest in Twitter up to reading those stupid tweets but for the occasion, I just created an account and answered to Gaby.

I think Dave is genuinely a bigger fan of V/M, especially V. That's fair. Last year he joked that he used to be one of those obsessed shippers, but I think there's some truth to that.

And he's always wallowed in drama and has tried to provoke it whenever possible. Remember when he said Davis/White need to return because everyone in Montreal was getting along too well and failed to provide the drama he was looking forward to? This year with the Olympics it's more provocative to talk about branding and politics (especially with Didier's past) than the skating. I stopped listening to the recaps this season because he kept repeating the same things about the top teams and barely talked about the actual skating at the events.

The women generally seem to get more nastiness on social media in these partnerships. Charlie gets a lot aggressive reactions to his political opinions now, but it was Meryl who got most of the insulting replies from ice dance fans. There's probably some overlap with people now going after Gabriella.

So David Lease caved in against the V/M ubers onslaught and added his brand of counter truths and insinuations against P/C, Gailhaguet and other skaters, their countries block voting, ... except for Canada, its judges and its skaters or at least V/M.

Just like on forums and elsewhere people are afraid to speak their mind, to speak up against the worst of the abuse because of the V/M ayatollahs overboard inacceptable behavior.

How come honest, decent skating fans are not more reactive against that is beyond me.

I accept that all V/M ubers are not Canadians but honestly they do seem to be in majority because of the nationalistic/chauvinistic accent often used . Canadian fans should be more active against the abusers who are tarnishing their reputation.

Also I wanted to add that I can't also wait for Gailhaguet to be voted out of the FFSG !

Not sure if that was what you were trying to infer... but that was how I kind of took it. And being proud of your country, may be abrasive to some and certainly apprecaite that but for years... we truly weren't. 2010 changed us I think. We are far more competitive overall. jmho

I barely post about birthdays on twitter and instagram because I think it is crap but I find only the truly zealots rant off on the skaters. I wish peoplehad more respect. As I said good for Gabby biting back.

No it's not about criticizing a country of course, Canadians are litterally one the nicest people on earth (from my experience), but when we talk about sport, the guns are out ! Well actually watching Canadian coverage is a bit tough, it's very very biased. Of course we could watch anything else, but we like to have everybody's opinion on our favourite skaters I guess. I'm personnally always looking foward to hearing everyone's commentary but Carol and Kurt haven't been always keen on P/C and nothing to do with V/M, since it started in 2015 - more like when C/B and P/C beat WeaPo at worlds I think.

One of the many reasons I don't watch their videos anymore. He might actually likes the fact that DG is still here because he can talk about it and exposing his "theory". P/C aren't really drama people, so you have to find something I guess. Otherwise you're left with... skating :lol:
