They have a gala tomorrow night and the next day in Clermont-Ferrand though :D And Dancing on Ice on sunday. Stamina...

Their flight was delayed because there was an issue : the plane did not have authorization to fly over Mongolia so they had to circle around the country for 1+ hour. These issue are easily fixable, but they needed to stop to Prague for refueling  So they lost almost 3 hours total !

Aah, Prague! Why haven't I read this earlier! I could have waved at the plane or something.

Najarro is a flamenco dancer though.

He worked with Pechalat/Bourzat when tango was part of the SD although I have to admit, I have no recollection of that program.
He just came to mind because he's worked with a few ice dancers from the Zazoui team back when it still was her team and with a couple of other (French) skaters, too.

Their OD from 2008 was great but it was Flamenco the one with the fan as a prop!

I would love for them to work with Dean again, but this time for the free dance. He obviously loves them (he even told Jayne Torvill to go watch them skate live in Grenoble in November and she did!!!) and I'm sure that he can create magic with them if he doesn't have to follow the rules of a Short Dance.

I'd love to see that too. It seems Dean is capable of pushing them in a way Dubreuil isn't.

I love their Sheeran SD. It is quirky and fun. Dean did a great job with its choreography.

What did he do at the hockey game?
Scott acted like a rather typical Canadian hockey fan. He let the ref know he didn't appreciate the calls being made in penalties on Canada. Oh yeah, like many around him, he had a glass of beer. Beer and hockey ... traditions in many hockey homes/bars/rinks.

OMG, Gabriella is a more optimistic woman than I am. I'm going to have so much anxiety if she wears it at Worlds.

ETA: Maybe the other one is in Montreal though.
She snapped out of the negativity pretty quickly during the competition too, otherwise it sticks with you and that's the worst.

Translation? I am non-French unfortunately.

Not much of interest, except the older man who I am not sure who he is exactly, saying that the Canadian judge ( or was it the fact that the Canadian judge was chairman I can't remember) was "minable" (pathetic), and giving examples on how Canadian judges gave out strange scores tilting heavily towards Canadian skaters.

Guilaume tries to explain the difference between pair skating and pair dance, and does not do a very good job lol.

The man is Didier Gailhaguet, president of the French Federation. In this interview he also takes credit for Bruno Massot ("half a medal" he says ), he also says that "miss Savchenko" asked to skate for France twice but that the French fed thought it was better, looking at her history skating with Germany, to let her continue to skate for that country. And yes of course he complained about the Canadian judge - he basically thinks Gabriella and Guillaume should have won. Unfortunately the camera wasn't showing Gabby and Guillaume's faces when he was saying all these things. I would have loved to see their reactions.

Other piece of news for those of you who want to see P/C live: the French grand prix will take place in Grenoble again this year. Didier said that Hanyu will be there. No idea how he knows this already but he did say they will review the event, including the tickets. Now whether or not that means the price will go up or down, remains to be seen:yikes:

Yeah sure, Didier being the generous soul that he is "let her" skate for Germany.
This man.

We can blame many things to Gailhaguet ... but as for the presence of the Canadian president he is right ... if nobody wants to see the conflict of interest ...
Have a look at the notes she gives to Gabi and Guillaume, ok they do not count but that's the sport?
Okay so in reality, it does count. You have to scrap up the best and worst marks and then do the mean. The mean however, changes and can be a tiny bit higher, or a tiny bit lower. And yes those tiny bits counts at this point.
I don't single out every judges marks, but no 10.00s in the FD was a joke to be honest. A big one.
And yes it's not the CAN judge or anything, judges have to come from somewhere. It's the fact that she is the SC president. The USFS president pulled out from judging events this year for that same reason.

and here I would like to see this canadian juge loudly read the olympic oath in front of camera ...

I wish she would have done like the USFS president and withdraw because of the evident conflict, very good move on his part and not at all ethical from her. I mean if the reverse situation would have happened, a french fed president judging, a US and a Russian judge on the panel but no canadian present, what we would have heard for the canadians and specifically the fans :scream: But of course, the conspiration was all about Gailhaguet buying out everyone  Very convenient narrative all year long.
I didn't want to talk much about it but the more I think about what happened, the more I get annoyed by the double standards frankly.
