(since the EZ Board days when many people on this thread probably hadn't even started watching figure skating, let alone had any actual knowledge of the sport)
Really ? The old sage argument ? Yeah, P/C brought me to figure skating. Sue me.
I don't mind people coming here to talk about P/C without being fans really but :
- blaming fans here for seing P/C as gods reincarnated is stupid. If there's a place where we can express that we think they invented ice dance, ice skating, ballet and Nutella it's here. We don't need to add "but V/M's Mahler was balletic and they've done everything style of dance and actually they're GOAT" for balance (edit : that's not in reaction to you but another poster)
- blaming fans here for thinking they are more sane than V/M's fan I don't see your point. Realistically, it's not the place people will agree with you, espescially if you're right and we are as crazy as any other fan threads. So either you went for a fight or you're not very good at arguing. Do you really think the Tumblr you've quoted was proof of P/C's fans craziness ? If I counter with a crazy Tumblr from a V/M über and we go back and forth ad nauseam do you think it would be an interesting debate, that in the end, we could have come to an interesting conclusion ?
If you want to prove definitively for the sake of science that P/C über are the worst then you need :
- an analysis of French twitter feed of anything related to both skaters, separated in two groups 1) About V/M 2) About P/C
- In those two groups an sentiment analysis of positive/negative feedback (If you want to do it automatically have a look here :
https://french.stackexchange.com/qu...-sentiment-classification-api-for-french-text)
- About the negative feedback, separate the hate from the simply negative
- Now, determine if the author of the tweets is from France, Canada (Quebec) since the French language is not discriminative there, or another country.
Do the same for the English twitter (Don't forget the ISUiscancelled hashtag !).
Then, of the people who posted positive comments for one team, did they posted negative comments for the other ? I'll need the stats.
Once you've done it for twitter, do it for the other social media platforms. Oh, and on Ao3 (a fan fiction website) to see how many fans of these teams are shippers. That's the easiest. The fact that it is relevant to craziness is debatable, bit it'll make a nice side stat in few time nonetheless (spoil : if you search for "Tessa Virtue" and "Guillaume Cizeron" in Ao3, it's 174 vs. 11. Now filter to get only the shippers).
And then we'll have an imperfect basis for the debate you want. Plus I think if you know LaTeX you can publish at a scientific conference as a bonus. Bring the debate to an even bigger platform.
On a more serious tone : I do not think that P/C fans are more sane than V/M. I just feel that the hate coming against P/C is bigger, but for me that that's mostly because the fanbase is bigger, like I've written before. That's empiric, and you'll just answer to me "no I don't think so the hate is not bigger", it would not lead anywhere so I did not bother with answering that at the time.
When I see your message I do not care if you're a fan of P/C or not (sorry I don't stalk you I guess ?), I just read the content of your message and you had nothing nice to say about them and negative things to say about fans so, while I do not think you're a troll, I think you came here to fight then (it can happen to the best of us).
(I think they could pull of a lovely Lord of the Rings program, for example - gorgeous music in the soundtrack of those three movies - or anything in that kind of fantasy realm, really.) I also think they would do a great job with Celtic-style music (Enya or something like Loreena McKinnett's "Dante's Prayer" that Michelle Kwan skated a famous exhibition program to back in the late 90s).
Ha, you're really into Celtic things huh ? Certainly if they do that nobody could accuse them of doing the same lyrical style

(debatable if they do LOTR)
Their coach (Hagenauer) did a Celtic dance once, it's one of its only videos as a competitor I think :

Not bad !
