Footie lost one of it's greatest ever stars today. Eusébio has past away at age 71 and gone to the big footie stadium in the sky. He was born in Mozambique and represented Portugal, because of colonial ties, and played for Benfica for most of his career. He was not just a great talent but a super guy as well. Rest in peace dear sweet Eusébio da Silva Ferreira. You will be missed! :wuzrobbed

Defoe and Bradley were both introduced to TFC fans today and I have never seen who TFC hires get so much press coverage before. LOL I have high hopes for the coming season. :respec: Meanwhile in the EPL Man U finally won a match but remains in 7th place. However the leadership of the league keeps changing hands. Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal are all very much in the title race.

This year's Ballon d'Or winner is... Christians Ronaldo! Have no problem with this selection because he has done extremely well for both club and country.

Ronaldo :cheer:

They also gave Pelé an honorary Ballon d'Or, the only trophy missing from his collection.

Hat trick for Eto'o and if only I was a drinker, but alas I am not. So there is nothing to dull the pain...

This period of adjustment is taking awhile but I have faith in the future and in both coach and team. Still love ya boys! :cheer2:

Man U has reportedly made a deal for Juan Mata worth £40m! Hope he can help rev up the team a bit. At this point they can use all the help they can get.

Brazil's Curitiba stadium may not be ready in time for the WC in June and now FIFA is threatening to axe it from the WC list of venues. Let's just hope it is done in time.

Everything World Cup related will be down to the wire...
Here, in Porto Alegre, Beira Rio stadium is reportedly 97% done. The streets around it, however, are another story (I have to go through that mess twice a day :scream: ). They say it'll be done by May, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I am so heart broken right now. I just do not know what to say. How on earth did they lose to Stoke City?!

Man City lost today at home to Chelsea for the first time since 2010 and that leaves Arsenal in the lead 55 points. Man U will be lucky to get to play in Europe next season and are way out of the leadership race with 40 points.

Mr Beckham, Mr Garber and various elected functionaries from Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami are supposed to have a press conference tomorrow to announce what several local news outlets are reporting to be a "major announcement concerning South Florida sports". It is believed by many local bloggers to be the announcement of the granting of the franchise for MLS team #22 to be played in one of 3 locations in or near downtown Miami and starting in 2017, with an outside chance of starting in 2016.

More later.

ETA: Now is later.

From what I can gather and understand Becks made an announcement of his intent to start an MLS franchise located somewhere in downtown Miami. He still has to finish getting all his financial & political ducks-in-a-row, but he will have a team in Miami someday. If I understand correctly NO franchise has been given to him, that is for some unspecified future date, but Miami will be the place it will be.

All he did was verify the many rumors that have been flying around for months. It is interesting, but not earth shaking. Yet. When he does, finally, make an announcement with Don Garber that a franchise has been awarded to Becks & Miami then we'll know for sure.

That, Miami Vice, will not happen. Some of those that seem to know a thing or 2 about what is going on seem to favor Miami United FC, but, as it now sits, only Beckam knows for sure.

Hey now! We won yesterday against W. Brom 3-0! And now we inched up a spot to 6th. Maybe playing in Europe next season is still possible. :cheer2:

Vancouver Whitecaps beat NY Redbulls 4-1 yesterday and Toronto plays Seattle next weekend with all our new acquisitions. I am hoping for big things this season. :D
