This is very cool. Sharpless is one of 5 two-time Nobel Prize winners. Linus Pauling is one of the others, which just shows you that winning a Nobel Prize, even twice, doesn’t mean you are infallible and know everything about everything. The 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry went to Carolyn R Bertozzi (Stanford University, USA), Morten Meldal (University of Copenhagen, Denmark), and K Barry Sharpless (Scripps Research, USA) for the development of click chemistry and biorthogonal chemistry.
K Barry Sharpless had already been award the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2001.
Could you share with the thread what you mean?Linus Pauling is one of the others, which just shows you that winning a Nobel Prize, even twice, doesn’t mean you are infallible and know everything about everything.
Pauling went a bit off the deep end with his claims about Vitamin C. And it was also not really in his area of expertise, either, but because he won a Nobel Prize some people assumed he was right about that as well.Could you share with the thread what you mean?
I like this tweetVery strange how the Nobel Peace Prize committee are forcing Ukrainians into the same space as Russians and Belarusians….
Peace Prize has always made questionable decisions. It's the goofiest Nobel.
